90 minutes into central London via train and tube.
Absolutely love it though. Never thought I was good enough to work in London and pinch myself every day I am there.

Good enough to work in London?

ilovepixie · 31/08/2024 21:09

About 5 mins by car.

Shergill15 · 31/08/2024 21:34

About 15 minutes in a car, 40 by bus

Mattsmum2 · 31/08/2024 21:35

3 minute walk, lucky, I get to go home lunchtime.

movingonsaturday · 31/08/2024 21:53

5 mins walk

whatthejuice · 31/08/2024 21:56

50 mins in car.
I only do it twice a month though.
It used to be 1hour. Every single day, never again.

StoatofDisarray · 31/08/2024 21:59

35 minute stroll.

BunglezippyGeorge · 31/08/2024 22:01

At least 1.5 hours by car (not in rush hour) or 3 trains.(edit to say twice a week I do this not every day)

Inlaw · 31/08/2024 22:01

5

FinallyYouSaid · 31/08/2024 22:02

25 minutes drive, from my house to carpark directly outside the office.

LadyContrary · 31/08/2024 22:09

Current job - 31 minutes (10 minute walk to the station, 11 minute train journey, 10 minute walk
to the office). 20-25 minutes drive in the morning, anyone’s guess on the way back due to traffic, that’s why I usually choose the train. Only once-twice a week though as mostly wfh.

I used to work in the city centre and the only viable option was the bus which would take 45 minutes in the morning and sometimes up to 2 hours in the afternoon. Every day. NEVER again.

CheeseWisely · 31/08/2024 22:20

15-20 minutes drive depending on traffic.

MrsPostmanPat · 31/08/2024 22:26

3 minutes on the car. 10 if I walk.

TheClawDecides · 31/08/2024 22:26

6 minutes on foot.

I'm very lucky!

Crispynoodle · 31/08/2024 23:15

About 7 minutes by car (I am disabled it has to be by car!)

Alalalalalongalalalalalonglonglilong · 31/08/2024 23:35

3 / 4 minute walk. I work in my housing estate! Couldn't be easier. Low paid salary though. Dh is main earner and 20 to 30 mins 3 days a week, wfh other days.

coxesorangepippin · 01/09/2024 02:27

75 mins, from front door to sitting in the office

Hence my bimonthly only presence!

YorkshireIndie · 01/09/2024 02:56

It is going to be about 2hrs I think in total. There is zero point me going into the office as no one in my team is based there but it is policy 🙄🙄🙄🙄
Waiting for a closer office to open or until after Christmas before I start looking for a new role in a closer office

TranscendingTheSituation · 01/09/2024 03:05

<2 minutes by car or 12 minutes walking. I’ve been so spoiled living so close for the last 13 years, I don’t know how I’ll manage if I ever move!

garlictwist · 01/09/2024 03:29

40 minute walk on the way there as I go the long way round to get some exercise. 25 on the way home as I go directly but with a mega long 20 percent hill in the middle.

treacledan71 · 01/09/2024 03:46

Wfh some days but if get bus and it is on time about 60 mins including getting to bus stop. Could get train and get in quicker but bus only 2.00 and drops me literally outside my work and a bit of a walk from train station with lap top etc if got train. Also get a seat. Think if I had to go in more than 2 days a week would get the train. Coming home on bus can be a bit longer as more traffic as I go in really early in the morning.

useitorlose · 01/09/2024 06:39

30 minutes by car, it's just over 20 miles but mostly motorway.

TheDefiant · 01/09/2024 07:41

When I went to the office in 2019 I could do it in as little as 15 minutes depending on timing it right, no delays and platform of arrival!!!

7 minute walk to train, 7 minute train journey and 1 minute walk from platform to office.

Now that journey takes me 10 minute walk to train, 8,9,10,11 minute train journey (who knows what it will be!) and another 10 minute walk to office (they moved).

However I now WFH so commute is zero.

NeedthatFridayfeeling · 01/09/2024 07:46

20-40 minutes by car.
If we leave the house at 7:40 and the office at 4 it'll be the 20 minute end of the scale, if we leave home after 8 and the office after 4:30 we're looking at the 35-40 minute end.
We always aim for the former.

Skibidy · 01/09/2024 07:47

10 minutes by car
