25mind. Car and walk.

Groovee · 31/08/2024 14:50

17 minutes by car. 1 hr 30 minutes by bus home. If Dh drops me at the bus stop it's a 25 minutes bus.

Deliberationdivinationdesperation · 31/08/2024 14:51

45-60 mins if I drive (depends on traffic)
60 mins if I drive to the station and get the train then walk at the other end

Trainham · 31/08/2024 14:51

20mins cycle (but only 10 min home as down hill all the way)
35 mins walk

smallchange · 31/08/2024 14:52

8 mins by car, 1hr by bus.

I work mostly from home and hoping to use a bike when the new cycle route opens as that will be 20mins.

BrigadierEtienneGerard · 31/08/2024 14:54

55 mins (assuming the M3 is OK).

30 seconds. WFH. It used to be 45 minutes, never again

Same, my commute was 90 mins one way for years. No thanks.

Scottishskifun · 31/08/2024 15:11

35-55mins depending on traffic by car, 75 minutes by train (including a walk either side)

TheNoonBell · 31/08/2024 15:30

20 seconds. Bedroom to study.

KnutonHardz · 31/08/2024 15:49

I'm only posting here because it's a topic that is very much on my radar as I have to start commute a day or two again, after WFH for 3+ years.

  • Pre-covid, living in the SE England I had 20-40 min commute one way. I was in the office almost always 5 days per week. For our projects we often had weekend work too, and Sundays could be just 15 min!
  • For the past few years I've been WFH (or more correctly working remotely from my DHs home). Zero commute!
  • Now I have attend in-person at a remote office one day per week. It's only one day per week, but it is just over a 2 hour drive. I hate it! Not looking forward to driving that in winter :(
Meadowfinch · 31/08/2024 15:53

105 mins on Thursdays but I WFH four days a week, so more normally 30 seconds.

Simonjt · 31/08/2024 15:54

25 minutes by foot, 16 minutes by foot and metro.

Dontknowwhyidoit · 31/08/2024 15:56

60 minutes approx in car depending on traffic, I travel 26 miles each way

10 minutes drive, 10 minutes to park and walk to train station from free parking, 30 minutes on the train (without any delays), 5 minutes walk at the other end. So about 55 mins if no train delays. Luckily I don't have to do it often these days.

poopoobarneymcgrew · 31/08/2024 16:00

Up to an hour on way to work bus walk bus but can be hour and half on way hm

MinnieMountain · 31/08/2024 16:00

8-10 minutes by bike.

patinthehand · 31/08/2024 16:01

10 mins cycling, or 28 mins walk. Can do it by tube in 17 min if needed too. Live in London zone 2, office is in zone 1.

familyissues12345 · 31/08/2024 18:54

My commute is variable over the week - longest is 30 mins

familyissues12345 · 31/08/2024 18:55

Forgot to say, I like 30 mins. Doesn't feel ridiculously long, but gives me time to chew over the day before I get home!

von1471 · 31/08/2024 18:58

Anything from 15 minutes to 45 minutes depending on the time of day and whether it’s the school holidays.

Kpo58 · 31/08/2024 19:03

90 mins for me. About 2 hrs for DH.

SanMarzano · 31/08/2024 19:03

About 60 by walking, train and tube.

I couldn’t deal with commuting by car, I need my commuting time to myself for reading my book!

WellyBellyBoo · 31/08/2024 19:06

20 mins either bike or car. Both take about the same as lots of traffic and a walk from the car park. Two days a week, the rest I work from home.

OneWildNightWithJBJ · 31/08/2024 19:06

About a seven minute drive. Have had some horrendous commutes in the past, but this is my shortest.
