Induction. No contest.

TheFlis · 28/08/2024 20:36

Induction! Gets up to heat faster than gas and is a dream to clean.

Starlightstarbright3 · 28/08/2024 20:36

I don’t have the option of gas but much prefer induction over ceramic

frankiefirstyear · 28/08/2024 20:36

I loved my induction hob but be aware that you may need to replace all of your pans if you get an induction hob. I think they're safer if you have kids/pets that could get burned from other types and energy efficient also. But I also quite like a gas hob for power cut reasons.

Kellykukoo · 28/08/2024 20:37

Induction for me too

Clearinguptheclutter · 28/08/2024 20:37

Induction! We didn’t have to replace any of our pans but check yours

BrightLightTonight · 28/08/2024 20:38

Induction 100%

Pipsquiggle · 28/08/2024 20:39

I have had them all.
Induction hands down.
The only exception is if you are a professional chef but I guess you wouldn't be asking the question in that case

ElinorDashwood68 · 28/08/2024 20:39

Induction

Coughsweet · 28/08/2024 20:40

Induction, everything else is nonsense

reluctantbrit · 28/08/2024 20:40

I had all and love my induction now. So easy to deal with, easy to clean, flat surface means more space in the kitchen.

Gas is nice and electric a pain in the a**

billyt · 29/08/2024 13:16

Induction. Brilliant for speed to boil and easy to keep clean.

Also, you can test your existing pots and pans by using a magnet. If it sticks then you're ok.

My Apple Watch has a titanium strap. And it's magnetic so I use it to test any pots I see that I might want to buy. No stick, no buy Grin

We are just about to have our kitchen done. The man at the showroom said pretty much everyone is having induction now and gas hobs are on the way out.

NannyGythaOgg · 29/08/2024 14:00

I was a sworn gas user; never wanted anything else; then I got a new build and had to go electric. My induction is amazing. Much quicker heating, Very very safe and so easy to clean. Being so easy to clean is the deal breaker. I would never go back to gas.(Not that I'm able to)

Love love love induction

Papyrophile · 29/08/2024 14:04

I would have chosen an induction hob, except that DH has a pacemaker. So we stick with gas.

FOJN · 29/08/2024 14:04

Induction for me too. So easy to keep clean.

amoreoamicizia · 29/08/2024 14:05

I've got induction and I hate it. I can't we on low heat, I can't leave stocks to infuse, I can't lift my wok up stir-frying. I find it awful!

nnjj · 29/08/2024 14:30

I've had experience of all. Induction all day long!

BristolQs · 29/08/2024 14:34

Induction. We weren’t sure but it’s great. Some of our pans were fine for induction but we had to replace others. Also means if we replace our gas boiler in the future we won’t need to still have a gas supply (and standing charge).

Isthiscorrect · 29/08/2024 14:41

Induction. So easy to cook and to clean.

RedHelenB · 29/08/2024 14:43

Gas.

GiantHornets · 29/08/2024 14:44

Gas.
Tried induction, not so good if you want to use more than one ring on a high heat.
Ease of cleaning is not high on my priority list

CheerfulBunny · 29/08/2024 14:48

At one time I'd have said gas as I've most experience with it. However we're living (very temporarily) with MIL so gone from induction to gas. I'm really struggling with her gas hob, it's so hectic and fierce and I can't turn it down to a slow enough simmer. The induction hob in our old now-sold house was much better and far more controllable.

TheLovleyChebbyMcGee · 29/08/2024 14:52

induction, as responsive as gas, easier to clean than either and safer too

icebearforpresident · 29/08/2024 14:53

Induction by a mile. I used to boil the kettle for cooking things like pasta and my induction hob can boil a pot of water faster than my kettle can boil the same volume.
