The film was ridiculous. It was supposed to be a small dingy record shop. The film made it massive, like an HMV or something.

Came here to say what everyone else already said, and leaving with a stolen intention to have a John Cusack binge-watch this weekend.

There's an HIV subplot (that the film got rid of) that's dated but otherwise it's fine for a 15yo.

Got all excited there reading the OP, thinking I can actually remember the answer to this "what's the book?" post.
