Where do you store betting and towels

This may win the most boring thread of today but where do you store bedding and towels - if you don't have an airing cupboard.

Presently in the drawers of the bed but we are getting rid of bed(and the fairly useless drawers) and replacing with and ottoman bed

One of our beds is an ottoman bed (KS) but we keep spare duvets, pillows etc in that.
We had a full height cupboard built in the spare bedroom and we keep the spare bedding, large towels & foot mats in there. Smaller towels & flannels are kept in a freestanding cupboard on the landing.

We do have A LOT of bedding & towels, I just like the difference a change of bedding & towel colour can do to a room.

We have an ottoman bed that lifts up. Bedding is stored there. Towels are in drawers in the bottom of part of our wardrobe.

We have a large freestanding linen cupboard in our bathroom

I have shelves in the spare room for towels
Bedding I've just bought under bed storage bags which are huge!

GingerLiberalFeminist · 26/08/2024 13:36

We have an ottoman on wheels in the bedroom for our Bedding. Spare duvet and pillows vac packed in attic. DD's (2) Bedding is in a drawer under her cot

DoublePeonies · 26/08/2024 13:36

In the drawers under our bed..

I thought Ottoman beds lifted to provide more storage than a divan?

TheNoodlesIncident · 26/08/2024 13:36

In my built in wardrobe. I'm not happy about that and would rather chuck out the bath so there's room in the bathroom for a shower cubicle and an airing cupboard.

Shinyandnew1 · 26/08/2024 13:38

We do have an airing cupboard, we’re about the only people I know who still does! Everyone else seems to either have a cupboard set aside for bedding or they keep it under the beds.

Leafcutterantsarecool · 26/08/2024 13:38

Sheets in the drawers of the bed, or for the kid’s beds that don’t have drawers, in their chest of drawers. But each bed only has one spare set of sheets so they don’t take much space. We don’t have extra pillows and duvets, only what is on the beds.

Each person’s towel is in the bathroom, I don’t have lots of spares as I wash and tumble dry within a couple of hours and just put back. Ditto bathroom and cloakroom hand towels. The guest towels are in the guest room bed drawers. Swimming towels in the swimming bag. Tea towels in kitchen drawers.

We actually do have an airing cupboard but with the hot water cylinder there’s really no space for storage.

PerkyMintDeer · 26/08/2024 13:40

Well, we do have an airing cupboard so that's where the towels go and all the bedding goes in the ottoman bed or huge blanket box at the end of the bed.

Mymanyellow · 26/08/2024 13:44

In what used to be the airing cupboard. There’s no cylinder in there now. So it’s been racked out and they’re in there.

On the floor of the utility room by the looks of it.

hereismydog · 26/08/2024 14:02

We have a chest of drawers on the landing with towels/flannels, and seasonal bedding lives in a basket in the wardrobe. Off-season bedding goes in big IKEA storage bags under the bed.

theduchessofspork · 26/08/2024 14:04

we build a window seat with storage underneath in the bedroom

I like my airing cupboard and when we needed a new gas boiler chose to keep the airing cupboard.

When it's aired the bedding goes in the drawer under its appropriate bed.
Towels stay in the airing cupboard.

In fact, I almost took a gamble on it

eggandchip · 26/08/2024 14:23

I have 6 towels and 2 bed sets.
Towels are in the bathroom one bed set on my bed the other in my sock draw.

AdoraBell · 26/08/2024 14:27

I store them in the airing cupboard. No other space for them since we downsized.

Yes they do but I store bulky things in them that doesn't need to be accessed regularly - I find it quite a pain!

We have a proper linen cupboard, it is a huge space as it was where the water tank was in the loft.
Now the loft has been converted into 2 bedrooms and a jack and Jill (poncy name estate agents used 😃) bathroom.
I love it, it's been fitted out with proper shelves.
It's also where the loo rolls live😉

SoManyTshirts · 26/08/2024 14:49

Bedding in the top of the built-in wardrobe. Towels and flannels in a help-yourself pile on a table outside the bathroom door. Tea towels in the kitchen.

Everything near its point of use! If I have to go to another room I’ll just get confused. (“Why am I here again?”)

We are in a NB* and have an airing cupboard but what with the tank taking up half of it and the high ceilings, accessing the shelving is awkward (steps required) so I tend not to use it for lining storage.
Instead I use it for washing that isn't quite dry if I am not ironing immediately.

*Before anyone asks why we don't have a combi in a NB, our house has an unvented tank (airing cupboard) with the boiler downstairs in the utility. Our developer does this with all houses with multiple bathrooms.
TBH we much prefer this setup to the combi we had in our old house.
