Invariably we have a thread every year on requests for recommendations on a new pair of slippers . I haven't purchased mine yet , so if you have and love them , or getting new ones of much loved brands, tell us about them , take a pic to show off and share the love . Let's see them .

Do people actually spend £70 on slippers??

Jennalong · 25/08/2024 12:13

It depends , proper sheepskin , well made , good brand etc I'd say yes and more . They are likely to keep you going a few years and be well made.
Yes you can buy much cheaper , but are they going to give you good support and last you the whole winter ?

These look so cosy!

I bought the Ugg version of them last year treated myself cause they are costly but so warm sturdy and fit my feet perfectly.

Iwontlethtesungodownonme · 25/08/2024 12:19

I want new slippers if I can jump in and get any help 😁
I want a boot style but with a soft and flexible sole.

I do. I spend a lot on things to wear around the house, as that's where I spend most of my time and nice things make me feel good 🙂

So pyjamas, lovely knitwear and yes, slippers, lots of all those here. I spend virtually nothing on party outfits or office outfits bc I rarely go to parties and don't work in an office.

I bought these last spring and put them away for this autumn:

Looking forward to it getting cold enough to get them out.

Crunchymum · 25/08/2024 12:24

They look lovely but way too expensive and I'd immediately drop a glob of something on them!

treacledan71 · 25/08/2024 12:26

I call slippers my work shoes as wfh at least 3 days a week. Normally get them when on offer ie more expensive ones. Like backs on them for support.

Jennalong · 25/08/2024 12:35

@TheMithrasDirective

Nice slippers but for me , too soft a sole , mine have to withstand trips to the bin , get the post in etc .

They;re a hard sole, birkenstock sole, they are outside shoes really, they're not sold as slippers.

soupfiend · 25/08/2024 12:58

Misread the post!

Anyway yes, very expensive and they better last!

Floralnomad · 25/08/2024 13:02

I’d like a vegan version of the Celtic sheepskin ones upthread

Turnitoffnonagain · 25/08/2024 13:07

I do love a pair of cosy slippers but I have taken to wearing crocs with woolly socks as my last pair of slippers helped give me plantar fasciitis. (according to my physio, the combo of summer flip flops and backless or mule slippers are ruinous for feet) 😢

Yeah, I love a soft sole for curling my feet under me on the sofa. I just change if I have to go outside (or get DH to go haha).

lmhj · 25/08/2024 13:09

I go for longbay slipper boots from Amazon every year. I am hard on them. I do go outside for logs. Let dog out and they always last the year. So cosy. About £25 I think

Westfacing · 25/08/2024 13:11

I've never owned a pair of slippers - am I missing out!

ComealongMartha · 25/08/2024 13:14

Mine are birkinstock Boston clogs. Really comfortable and I’ve had them for about 6 years I think.

Oh, those sheepskin slippers and socks are making me feel claustrophobic - all that stuff wrapped around your feet, indoors!

Jennalong · 25/08/2024 13:33

I ended up buying these , will report when they arrive, getting them in Cranberry colour and found a 15% off , sitewise - Leaves15 .
