Is there any need for the snarky comments? The OP knows what her own DS likes. It looks cool, OP. I hope he enjoys his colourful room. We all need some colour in our lives.

Growlybear83 · 24/08/2024 12:58

Dear God! Amazing is certainly one word to describe it😆😆😆

OnAndOnAndonAgain · 24/08/2024 13:00

Well my kids have always slept with the lights off so I can't see how it would be harmful to their sleep

It look great, embrace the love of colour while it lasts , ds13 recently decided he wanted his little gaming room a very very dark grey 🤣

God people are such dicks. OP is working hard to make a lovely home for her family. Everyone has different tastes, and isn't that wonderful.

I like to think kids like yo have colour

They do and too many parents won't allow them to have any these days. It's depressing. Kids have little control over anything in their lives, everything is decided for them, at least allow them to have some colour in their own living space! You did a really good job. You say it's not done, what else is there to do?

OnAndOnAndonAgain · 24/08/2024 13:11

Honestly, I bought a projector to add a bit of colour, at least he changed his mind from going all black

You have a real talent for this OP (and no, I’m not being sarcastic), I really wouldn’t know how to start.
Your DCs are very lucky to have such a talented and imaginative mum 😍

Justgivemehotchocolate · 24/08/2024 13:27

It’s great OP.
We did something similar in ds2s room (but I limited his number of colours so I didn’t have to buy a zillion pots of different paint.😄)
He designed it all himself and helped paint it and loves it.

Thank you . Yes exactly this. I remember when baby toys play gym etc used to be bright colours I think babys either see green or red first. I forget now. But its definitely not dull colours. I feel like kids definitely need colour in their life .

Left to do . Some of the white lines are not meant to be there . Some colours are meant to meet . Not sure of i can be arsed to do it though. I have not touched the other walls yet . If I do anything it will be minimal

My teem ds painted one of his walls a dark ish grey . Reminds me of prisoner cell block H. I don't think he really likes it himself. But he won't ever admit that 🤣

Big wall art in small rooms really does work. Not my taste as I prefer nature but can appreciate the art too.

He will love it.

There are bits I have done wrong but we wont talk about that bit 😅 its really just frog tape and colours. But it does feel hard when in doing it. I get all mixed up and confused about what im actually doing 🤣 but I'm pleased with it

That's fantastic I bet he loved it. I bet he loved being a part of designing it. Makes it that much more special

I was a bit worried about the room being small. I think I need to keep the other 3 wall plain ish

What's a headache for an adult is fun for kids though. I had a multicoloured room when I was a kid and just looking at the photos now gives me a headache, but I loved that room when I was a kid.

It looks fab op.

You are very talented

GinBlossom94 · 24/08/2024 14:19

All the fun sponges! Not everyone wants a grey/neutral home that came straight off instagram!

Hope your DS is very happy with it

I'm just thinking about this room again. Because the room is small and that wall is pretty busy should I leave the other 3 walls white? I could add a few wall stickers or something but nothing over the top

OhBeAFineGuyKissMe · 24/08/2024 21:14

I think leaving it white will work well. Anything else could end up over crowded. Then he can add pictures when/ if he wants.

PorcupinesAreSpiky · 24/08/2024 23:03

Well done-it look ace. I can’t wait to hear his response to it when he sees it.

All the other walls white. Maybe a mirror?

I bought a huge print for my downstairs toilet and everyone told me I was mad it was too big for that room but they have changed their minds now it is up. It is like walking in nature in my downstairs loo now.
