Booked tickets when I don't have a box

So I'm off to Chessington tomorrow and I've booked cheap(er) tickets using the Rice Krispies bar things link online.

The one with the cereal needs a code for the ticket and you have to bring it with you when you enter.

These ones don't.
Am I going to show up and they insist on packaging? I can't even eat them so I don't really want them but if need be I'll go out and hunt down a few boxes.

Has any one been recently and not needed to present the box?
Does this make any sense Blush

How did you get the code without buying the cereal?

longdistanceclaraclara · 22/08/2024 10:40

You say 'these ones don't' so surely there's your answer!

Sirzy · 22/08/2024 10:42

I’m confused. You have used the voucher without having the voucher?

StampOnTheGround · 22/08/2024 10:43

I've used that for sea life centre before and they haven't asked for the box - which is good because I didn't bring it 😂

Floralnomad · 22/08/2024 10:45

Surely if you’ve booked and paid for the tickets online then you just show them the tickets / code on your phone , they don’t care if you paid in money or baked beans if you have a ticket that scans .

There is a link online for Rice Krispies squares and you press it and it automatically adds the discount.

But the cereal one you need to enter the code from the box.

Really hope it's going to be fine then!

I have ordered a box to come today but I've no idea if it will actually have the picture with the theme park stuff on it

Very true. Also the terms and conditions don't say I need it

There's a code printed inside the box which you will need - my DD has been caught out with that one.

Feck.

When you say caught out, what happened in the end?

She would have ended up paying the full price but I had the Kids Pass so we still got the deal.

britneyisfree · 22/08/2024 11:01

No where on the t&cs does it say I need to bring the box or a code

Was this for a cereal box or Rice Krispies squares?

Cereal Box

MillyMollyMandHey · 22/08/2024 11:04

I had to show the actual voucher code at the sealife centre one time, but not another

It literally says on the website you must present the packaging. It’s clear as day.

Yes that's why I asked the question. It's not in the T&C's so I hoped it might not be enforceable

It's very clearly stated though, why do you think they wouldn't be able to enforce it?!

britneyisfree · 22/08/2024 11:13

@SneakerShoulders because legally everything comes down the fine print. They mention it for cereal boxes in the fine print and not these.

I'm just looking for others with experience of going not a hard time. I've been to three shops today looking.

OP posts:
SneakerShoulders · 22/08/2024 11:16

Honestly, just get a packet or accept you can't take advantage of this discount. I wouldn't be looking to start my day at a theme park off with a legal debate. Not fair on the staff at the gate or your kids!

These are the standard Chessington T&Cs, so they wouldn't be the right ones for the offer.

Given the website says predominantly that you need to take the packaging, I'd go with the expectation of being asked for it, and it's a bonus if you're not.

It's sods law that you'll have a hassle getting it, and then not be asked, but they are well within their rights to ask you to pay the difference or refuse entry if you don't have it.
