Really strange activity with neighbours

We live next to these elderly neighbours who have been unpleasant for years. I will not bore you with the details.

Recently things have kind escalated after they tried to report us for parking on a normal road side parking spot they claim to be theirs, only to get a parking ticket themselves for blocking a dropped kerb. They’ve had random people (young people working in trade doing work on their house, neighbour friends) coming to us being really rude and telling us to not park in front of their house.

Then this lady wearing sunglasses came onto our road, didn’t come close and instructed a young man to hand deliver a note to the same neighbours and they both left really quickly looking super shady. Anyone got any clues what this situation can be? Debt? I am just curious and taking a light hearted approach to this, but obviously also don’t want to be murdered as they seem really angry!

what is the significance of a woman wearing sunglasses, and what do you mean when you say they looked ‘super shady’?

Perhaps they saw a strange woman peering from behind her curtains (you), got a fright and didn’t want to come closer.

Legit randomly saw this. Just curious ahaha that’s all.

Spies, they are obviously spies and they don't want you to park near their house so it leaves the coast clear for a quick getaway
What tipped me off was the lady with the note wearing sunglasses, only counter Agents do that

This lady stood at the entrance to our street and asked this man to hand deliver a note. Once the note is delivered, she turned around and left (didn’t wait for the man), then the man hurriedly walked away looking left and right. I wasn’t visible I was folding laundry and just happened to see it.
If this is normal standard behaviour then fine.

maybe its the secret love child of the old guy next door.. she's found him and she made her son, this old guys grandchild deliver a letter saying 'surprise'

or

for fairness.. maybe its the secret love child of the old lady next door... she's found her and she made her son, this old lady's granchild deliver a letter saying 'surprise'

or... because i am invested in this now... woman in glasses has been NC with her parents for a long time, and she's won the lottery and wanted to gift her parents but not let them know where its from so she got her son to puch an envelope stuffed with cash through the letter box?

OR woman in glasses is a publican and man next door (daily pub going) owes her heaps of money and she’s instructed this young man to deliver a note demanding this back or else she will spend the next 20 years sitting on their empty driveway

You really need to get a life OP. I pity your neighbours.

Timeforaglassofwine · 21/08/2024 11:50

Unpleasant neighbours usually have a string of people they have upset in the past, so the shady lady might have been one of them.
You keep curtain twitching op, it's what makes the world go around! 😉

Hoppinggreen · 21/08/2024 11:52

No need to be so mean, I am sure most of us have mused about the goings on in our road/Cul de sac at some point.
I actually know most of what is going on as for some reason I seem to be the one everyone tells the gossip to. I never share it though (beyond DH)

Ahahah people don’t work every day of the week and I happen to be off today! But ya I pity my neighbours too - landed way too much laughs and bants when we moved in.

How could you hear what she was asking if you were inside? Or were you outside? Was it sunny?

No I couldn’t hear what they were saying. The woman pointed to our neighbours’ house and the man went there. When he got to their driveway, he turned around and the lady nodded. So just body language.

Hmmm they do have plants. Are we getting into folklore/witchcraft/cult territories?

Emmz1510 · 28/08/2024 14:07

Someone wants to get a message to them but doesn’t want them to know it was them? Someone else they’ve annoyed maybe, or an estranged family member? I doubt it’s very interesting. They sound like right pains in the ass though and you should just keep out of it and try to have as few dealings with them as necessary.

You haven't seen any pink, long-legged cats lurking about have you OP? Or small moustachioed men in trench coats?
