Really strange activity with neighbours

We live next to these elderly neighbours who have been unpleasant for years. I will not bore you with the details.

Recently things have kind escalated after they tried to report us for parking on a normal road side parking spot they claim to be theirs, only to get a parking ticket themselves for blocking a dropped kerb. They’ve had random people (young people working in trade doing work on their house, neighbour friends) coming to us being really rude and telling us to not park in front of their house.

Then this lady wearing sunglasses came onto our road, didn’t come close and instructed a young man to hand deliver a note to the same neighbours and they both left really quickly looking super shady. Anyone got any clues what this situation can be? Debt? I am just curious and taking a light hearted approach to this, but obviously also don’t want to be murdered as they seem really angry!

This is all a bit one foot in the grave

They are slippier than an eel going backwards down a ski slope.

Someone wants to get a message to them but doesn’t want them to know it was them? Someone else they’ve annoyed maybe, or an estranged family member? I doubt it’s very interesting. They sound like right pains in the ass though and you should just keep out of it and try to have as few dealings with them as necessary.

Absolutely this! I bet they are in multiple disagreements in your street.
we have neighbour's like this, they piss everyone off.

We lived next to an absolute douchebag neighbour who thought the road outside his house was his and for his use only, despite having a massive driveway with 3 cars (one a large van).

Reason was he was a crap driver and apparently needed all that space to manoeuvre his vehicles. He hit our house at one point (which involved cutting the corner of our property) then had the cheek to come around and complain later.

It was an old village and a lot of the houses didn't have driveways so had to park on street. Last straw was him complaining hours after we got out of intensive care with our newborn. Eventually moved away, but drive past regularly and saw he's now got a stupid sign outside telling people not to park there! - which isn't enforceable...

Yeah, I agree someone wants to contact them anonymously for some reason.

Either they've got beef (and your neighbours sound like they would have beef with people) or it's a long lost daughter scenario.

I agree - they have probably pissed someone else off, people like that have no self awareness and enjoy bullying others if they can get away with it.

Wow that sounded like a neighbour from hell - I’m glad you’ve moved away! Some people are so entitled - thinking they own the imaginary parking spot outside of their house when it’s on a public road and anyone can park there…!
