Glad baby is well, I had bleeding from my cervix, (like the actual cervix was bleeding not blood from my uterus coming though my cervix) stopped around 20 weeks I think. No sex or penetration or orgasms till then.

I think this is what mine is! The sonographer had a good look around, placenta solid and attached and not anywhere near cervix. No Haematomas or anything x

Ahh yippee OP. Delighted for you and thank you for posting too. Know when you search for threads it’s lovely to have access to the positive stories too. Hope you manage to catch up on some sleep this eve and that the EPU is also reassuring tomorrow x

I would push for a trans vaginal doppler scan to rule out Vasa Previa, which can cause bleeding in pregnancy. It can be dangerous if you have, but it is very unlikely that you will, but it is worth getting it checked out. There are often no symptoms in pregnancy but one is sudden and unexplained bleeding in the second and third trimesters.

I had it and it was sheer luck that DD wasnt affected, so please push for the scan you will probably need a consultant to agree to the referral though or pay privately (dont get me started on that....)

So pleased for you OP I have been reading the past few days but wanted to just wish you well. Your pain really came across and resonated with me, I wish I could have hugged you. I had a MMC and bleeding during pg. I have three children now (the MMC was between child 2 and 3) but I still think about that time of our lives a lot. Hug your DD tight and stay positive. You're an amazing mum. Best of luck to your family, I have a everything crossed for you, you had positive news tonight so embrace it.

The hematoma could have passed, they couldn't see mine after my big bleed even though I was still lightly bleeding.

Main thing is baby is ok, so happy to hear that OP 💗

Bless you OP. So glad to read your update. Undoubtedly you are still going to be very anxious for a while yet. The Calm App and a Blue Tooth Sleep Mask are excellent for a distraction if you need it or need to calm down. Also, 'It's a Fair Cop' on BBC radio is a great funny distraction. Those are my go tos during periods of high anxiety. You need to rest up now xx

Incredible news, OP. So happy for you and baby. Wishing you a smooth and uneventful rest of your pregnancy.Flowers

blahblahblahhhhh · 20/08/2024 23:47

I’m so glad your scan was ok, OP.

i bled at 8 weeks with my first. Then with my second I bled all through first trimester and into second (light/heavy/brown/red varying amounts etc!) it’s terrifying! X

He is 5 years old and snoozing away in bed ready to annoy the life out of me tomorrow, crossing everything hospital gives you the all clear and you can relax

@YourBusyTurtle such a relief for you, I'm thrilled. Went through something similar with my twin pregnancy, had a huge bleed at 9 weeks, bathroom looked like the scene of a massacre. Was a weekend, went to a&e by ambulance due to the huge amount of blood. Had to wait 3 days for a scan. Turned out I had a high grade PC. I've no idea how those tiny things survived that amount of blood loss but the nurse explained it was because the bleeding is coming from below where they were.
I have 2 strapping 13yr olds now and to this day I think how lucky we are to have them but those 3 days were the longest of my life.
Hope the rest of the pregnancy is less eventful op xxxx

It's a fair cop - can lift your mood from most things.

Thank you everyone. All good at EPU again this morning, no apparent reason for the bleeding found again!

So happy for you!
Please consider this advice at your 20 week scan. They missed my vasa previa 8 times. Luckily the record system failed so I had to go and do the 20w scan again and they caught it.

VP is very difficult to spot on a standard scan so I am so happy that they spotted yours. I had dd vaginally and the membranes tore along the length of the exposed vessel rather than through it, also had velementous cord insertion, so it wasn't spotted until post birth placenta exam. It was a miracle.
