My partner has just sent me a link and it’s absolutely killed me. I’m sat on my own, laughing so hard (but quietly not to wake my child) that I have tears rolling down my face. It’s been years since I laughed this much!

When did you last laugh like this?

TilTok is funny and I laugh everyday at something, most recently the Australian break dancing

Yes that was the last thing that set me off as well 😂

Watched Wolf of Wall Street a month or so ago for first time with OH.. haven't properly laughed like that in so long, maybe years. Tears streaming, belly hurting kind of laughing 😃

Which scene ?

StirlingMallory · 12/08/2024 22:48

Last weekend meeting an old friend. We just howled with laughter all night. Can't actually remember what most of it was about. Just daft stuff from the past. I actually pee'd myself.

Tattletail · 12/08/2024 22:49

A couple of weeks ago when out with friends.

But that was nothing compared to my first pregnancy. I don't know what was going on with my hormones or funny bones but my god I found the smallest things hilarious, even my husband and he isn't really a funny man. I miss that 😆

Bluebellsinthewind · 12/08/2024 22:53

@LunaNorth I know what you mean. It was a lovely mumsnet surprise.

Will try and find the thread.

hereismydog · 12/08/2024 22:55

DP and I lost our minds over this last week! We were both giggling, but his laugh set me off laughing even more because he makes the most adorable ‘hoo hoo!’ noise when he’s trying to calm himself down. We were both in tears Grin

He makes me laugh all the time, just one of the reasons I love him so much!

Most days lately. DS has taken to doing impressions of the tv programme characters in Ghosts and I've almost died laughing.

stickybear · 12/08/2024 23:00

Watching an episode of Friday Night Dinner last night (it was the one where grandma gets stuck in the car boot). That programme tickles me like nothing else Grin

I've got a 'posh' friend who wanted dodgem cars fairground ride in her field for her son's 21st. My husband knows some fairground people, he gave her a piece of paper with a telephone number on.

He said give this man a ring and he can come and have a look at where to set up the dodgems and quote a price. His name is Arthur North, she looked horrified and said, Half and Half, who has a name like that, I don't think I want to deal with anyone known as Half and Half.

We are completely creased up when we discuss it, you'd really have had to been there, to understand the funny side. It was the look on her face and the posh accent.

About a month ago - on holiday I showed my sister the YouTube video of 'Schmeltz Herring' phoning in to a late night TalkSport show. I'd seen it before and thought it was very funny, but when my sister started to laugh at it, I started to laugh as well, and by the end we were both crying and holding our stomachs. I haven't laughed like that in ages.

EveSix · 12/08/2024 23:29

My DC1 is one of the funniest people I know. They do these incredible impressions and create characters which, whether subtle or outrageous, are equally hilarious. I often have to beg them to stop so I don't wet myself.

Lovethat · 12/08/2024 23:33

This weekend, out with friends and our dc, pulled up at McDonald's drive through and asked for a chix sicken nugget meal. My friend almost hyperventilated, kids were wetting themselves and I was trying to order food through tears and giggles.

I also laugh with my DH like this too .

thicklysettled · 12/08/2024 23:35

I watched a FB reel called "Unfortunately I didn't make the Olympic squad" which was a catalogue of sporting disasters (mainly diving and gymnastics). Laughing like Muttley, I could barely catch my breath.

Killmewithatune · 12/08/2024 23:36

Trying to remember the name of the woman who works in our local shop to a friend. She was trying to help me and asked if it was the woman who has a really dark tan after her holidays.
I still couldn't remember her name so just blurted out ..'let's just call her 'Crispy'
We both had tears rolling for a while after.

Which scene ?

Surely the bit where Leo thinks he's totally in control but is actually crawling down steps etc. Made me laugh.

UnctuousUnicorns · 12/08/2024 23:41

The other day, I was recounting to DC2, 24, the time when DC3, now 14, fell and rolled head over heels all the way down the stairs when she was about 17 months old. Obviously I was horrified at the time, but she was completely unharmed. For some reason I couldn't stop laughing when I was telling DC2 about it recently, even more so as DC2 (tongue in cheek) tried painting me as some wicked witch, standing at the top of the stairs, cackling evilly as her poor DC tumbled down them. All this in front of DC3, of course. For some reason that made it even funnier. I honestly could barely breathe for laughing.

Many years ago when I was an apprentice, we were doing a house re-wire. I said to the boss I needed the loo ( never said number 1 or 2) so asked the home owner if I could use the loo, she said yes but use the one in the hallway not the en-suite… went and had a pee, couple hours later when we had finished the boss said wait in van and I’ll get the cheque… 30 mins later he gets in the van, looks and me with a viscous expression and says, “ you dirty bstard” … why what’s up? .. I’ve just spent 20 mins cleaning your shit up from that en suite toilet!! … I said I didn’t use that one…” you are fking joking me”…. Needless to say I did feel a wet patch from laughing 😜😂😂

HeartandSeoul · 13/08/2024 00:07

It’s not often I have one of those moments, but I had one recently, and it was much needed!

I was helping my daughter with her geography exam revision, and she was asked to explain what an earthquake was. Every time she attempted to, it just sounded so funny (I’m am extremely immature!). She was describing how the plates rub up against each other, the tension builds and then there is an eruption 😁!

Poor girl, she was really trying to be sensible, but each time she tried to describe it, I was laughing and crying so much at her explanations, and she started too. I thought it was quite mature of her to announce “Mum, I think we’ve leave that question for now!”.

Prior to this moment, it had felt a little awkward, as we both were trying to find our feet with the revision (she is home educated), but it took away that awkwardness completely 🥰.

HauntedbyMagpies · 13/08/2024 00:11

@PerfectTravelTote Huh? What else could you use it for??

TashaJule · 13/08/2024 21:04

And the video of the lady climbing through the window, that went viral.

Littletreefrog · 13/08/2024 21:05

At work today but then I would say its usual to laugh like this at least once a week at work. We are a funny bunch.

bluemoons3 · 13/08/2024 21:10

Last night. I'm away with my daughter & her best friend (both 14) I went upstairs to talk to them, came out the room and the stairs are right outside and I fell down the first one straight onto my ass with a massive bang! We were all in fits of laughter, crying and almost lost bladder control 😂😂

VivaciousRadish · 13/08/2024 21:12

I’ve been a bit down lately but a Morrisons advert came up on Facebook and someone had commented. For some reason it made me laugh so so much.

I sent a screenshot to my daughters and they weren’t really amused. Showed my husband when he got home and he just looked blank.

I’ll show you but I’m not expecting anyone else to love it like I do. It’s the comment that made me laugh

EasilyDisturbed · 13/08/2024 21:13

At lunch at work today, someone described a situation relating to a friend who has got into a highly unusual (but good) set of circumstances and our imaginations ran riot with how things might possibly turn out (in a good humoured not nasty way). This is a regular thing at our work too, we have a blast and its one reason I much prefer working on site to at home.
