The patient I was worried about on Fri is still alive! Not out of the woods yet but better than Fri. And her family visited over the weekend. They weren't answering their phone Fri night and she kept asking for them.

Anyone else got something cheery to share?

A vintage necklace which I got for £1 at a car boot sale this morning, and which is actually worth about £30.

invisiblecat · 11/08/2024 11:11

@PoodlesRUs so pleased about your patient, by the way. 🙂

Travelling back from a lovely hols - in 2 hours I'll see my doggie. I am giddy.

Don't worry the doggie has been having their own fabulous time with lovely folk and their lovely dogs - my doggie might not want to come home.

Lovely thread!
I'm pleased as I slept well enough last night to get an early run in this morning. Now looking forward to spending a sunny day with DH and kids in the garden.
Happy for everyone else's wins too!

Lovely thread!
Great to hear all the good news!

My win for today is that a houseplant that I thought was dead wasn't. Just a small thing, but it made me happy.

reallyworriedjobhunter · 11/08/2024 17:15

I sorted out my front garden and it looks so much better.

Swam in the sea

muffledvoice · 11/08/2024 17:19

Made pineapple roast chicken with a side of roasted radishes and boiled red cabbage, dc ate the lot - and they don't really eat veg!

Crunchymum · 11/08/2024 17:28

Took 3 hot and grumpy children to the splash park. Didn't bother with towels / swimmers as they usually say it's too busy and don't end up going in.

All 3 DC had an absolute blast. They were all drenched from head to toe and squelched home but all 3 agreed it was so much fun.

It's not often I find something for both the oldest and youngest and mine all hate the heat so I'm taking it as a win.

DilemmaDelilah · 11/08/2024 17:30

Saw my lovely aunt and two uncles today - don't see them very often and it was lovely!

PinkBuffalo · 11/08/2024 17:35

Have no done weights properly in about a 1 year, but give it a go this morning after gym class and manage a 70kg deadlift (I have disabilities and am no strong at all so I was much happy about it)

also deweeded garden as much as I can and it does look bit better I think 🤔

Nsky62 · 11/08/2024 17:38

A lovely cooked breakfast with friend, and a happy cat dozing on windowsill in bathroom, near open window!
i do love that cat

I fixed the pond fountain by myself... got covered in pond algae and water, but I fixed it. All three fountain dishes are now working.

ForgettingMeNot · 11/08/2024 18:17

Fair skinned so usually burn even with sunscreen but was out for about 4 hours and all good

Ponkpinkpink15 · 11/08/2024 18:17

Im in the SE and it's been too hot here today to do anything!! It's not going to cool down until after 10 pm, so I'm not going to get my daily walk in!! I have a couple of health issues that make it a bit dangerous to walk in the heat 🙇🏻‍♀️🙇🏻‍♀️

Tomorrow & Tuesday are looking to be baking too, so will have to walk first thing (6am).

I can't think of 'a win' for today, but did celebrate our Olympians successes!

Me too

I baked for the first time for months, very good banana bread according to my DC’s, I did manage to get a slice before it all went

theriseandfallofFranklinSaint · 11/08/2024 18:20

DH gone off to work and DS gone out. Just as I was wondering what to eat tonight, the next door neighbour has handed me a plate of food over the fence (they've had a bbq) so I'm sorted 😊

FatmanandKnobbin · 11/08/2024 18:21

I managed to lay my bathroom flooring all by myself, it's the first time I've managed to do something like that since becoming disabled a few years back. It's a bit wonky in places but looks lovely, and I'm delighted with myself, and my flooring.

A year ago I was diagnosed with heart failure caused by a chronic lung disorder (I'm 39)...and today I managed to complete day 2 of couch to 5k...I'm determined to get to the end result of 5km!

DisforDarkChocolate · 11/08/2024 18:22

My husband has finished decorating the bedroom and it looks lovely. Tomorrow we can move the furniture back in to another win is on the way.

Everyone is working, at a sleepover or out with friends.

I've had the house to myself all day. I used to dream of this.

Oh bloody well done. How did you manage that? Slowly building up? That's a huge achievement.

theriseandfallofFranklinSaint · 11/08/2024 18:24

@PinkBuffalo that is amazing 👏
