I went to a soft play with my dd when she was little and tried to order a jam sandwich.

Staff: we don't do sandwiches.
Me: but you do toast and jam?
Staff: yes.
Me: ok then can I please have two raw pieces of toast with some jam spread in the middle?
Staff: ok.

Absolutely bizarre 😂 at least dd got a ham sandwich in the end.

Dh did a season at an airport when he retired.
One of his jobs was to walk around the bars and warn stag and hen parties to steady up with the alcohol or they wouldn’t get on the flight.
One stag group got the groom so drunk he wasn’t allowed to board and his mates just left without him.
