Sending wheelchair vibes your way! We were looking at a 3 year waiting list so we jumped the queue - DS has inheritance money from his late dad. We know how privileged we are.

Tbh I didn't think we'd get referred because of how tight the rules are - needing to use it 4 hrs a day in the home.

We live in the first floor with no lift 😂

But his consultant said regardless of whether he use it he is on crutches for that amount of time and can't actually carry anything (only 1 leg reaches the floor!) and can't actually walk more more than half an hour without significant pain or 2 days rest of no more than walking to car and back so she feels he meets criteria.

I have inheritance from my mum so I would have used that if needed - we just needed to know where to go to get a proper one as opposed to the cheap off the self one he has now!

But I thought starmer was on holiday Hmm

Maybe he's chairing emergency meetings from his sunlounger

I've already come a cropper with no emoji and accidentally confused someone with sarcasm. Also some of the threads are awful - not sure why they are still going. At least the TR one finally went.

Yeah he's on holiday whilst he also raises all our taxes too.

I'm fed up of hearing how they have realised taxes.

Mine haven't been raised since the Tories raised them!

There is a small company near us, I often see people taking their wheelchair for a test ride in the nearby street.

Well if nothing else, the UK is still a dynamic entrepreneurial powerhouse of culture.

Some enterprising soul should ironically sell these to the knuckledraggers. Designed and printed in the UK, donchaknow.

Surely that is sackable? Who TF who want to work for him?

itsgettingweird · 08/08/2024 15:17

Wtf. He looks like he's rounded up the local year 9 kids. That's so depressing.

Yeah the local secondary school is definitely out for summer 🧐

If it's a manual self propelled lightweight chair you want, go with Kushall if you can.

How does anyone have a productive conversation with someone who thinks this?

“I’m just right about it,” said one woman on her views that there shouldn’t be any more immigration.

That's the issue with "reasonable concerns". It actually means "do what I say"

Riots and disorder in the UK: Starmer pledges 'no let-up' in efforts to prevent further riots

Keir Starmer says the justice system is "working speedily" to deal with people involved in the disorder.

Got to admit I’ve having a bit of a weep here. I’m a bit of a Swiftie and as you probably know, her concerts have had to be cancelled in Vienna. Apparently churches are playing Taylor Swift music in Vienna for the mostly women and girls to go and swap bracelets and sing. #lovewinsintheend

From BBC. Suspended Labour councillor Ricky Jones has been arrested on suspicion of encouraging murder after comments at a London counter-protest.

But two tier policing innit.

I hope he was banging on about two tier policing as they slapped the bracelets on.

That is lovely.

Time to reflect that dark fantasy of violence is not confined to the far right. Jones is a disgrace. No excuse.

@CassieMaddox pre Brexit an undereducated relative was instant that Polish people were jumping off the backs of lorry's into fields in Kent ( they live in Kent) when I pointed out that surely they would just come in via Wizz air as part of EU she was having none of it

Said 'I know what I think even if I don't know the facts'

I'm afraid there is no arguing with stupid

No. But then those people get annoyed that no-one is listening.
Infuriating.

Said 'I know what I think even if I don't know the facts'

I'm not really sure how you can argue with that.

I mean we could all think all sorts of things. And I'd no one let actual facts get in the way ..... 😳

You can prove anything you like with facts.
