It's winter you're sat in front of the fire with a picnic, what's on your list?

For me it's various meats, local cheeses, artisan crackers, sourdough, baked Camembert, chutney, pickles, crudités crisps and dip.

Is anything missing?

I have been thinking about this again today.
After eating all the melty cheese and bread I think I would need something sweet.
Homemade pistachio and dark chocolate biscotti to dip in a mocha.

Warm cheese scones with butter and a very sharp cheddar cheese

God, there's so many lovely ideas I'm either going to be really fat or have to have several goes at this over winter.

I live the idea of pistachio and dark chocolate and the warm cheese scones.

I'm tempted to go for warm cheese scones, french onion soup and crumble with crisp cold champagne for the first round.

Thanks for having it moved @WildFlowerBees ! This will be a great thread to reference in the doldrums of winter

I don't have anything to offer as most of my suggestions have been mentioned but you now have me longing for a cosy night by the log burner. Every winter DH and I say we'd love to set up a little table in front of the sofa with delicious buffet just for us. It's making me long for Autumn now.

It's really nice once in a while, think I'd get bored of it too often but now and then it's lovely, especially when it's either freezing cold outside or teaming with rain. Love to hear the rain on the windows tucked up on the sofa fire crackling away and just pick while chatting with dh. I prefer it when the following day isn't a work day though so I can roll myself to bed after a cheese feast and not set an alarm. 🧀
