I'm just in my kitchen spot, drinking my first cuppa of the day. The kittens are snoozing after a night full of purring next to my head 💤. Dd1's up too - she has work at 11:30 so needs to leave at 10:30 ish.

I'd have some washing on the line already but there was a fucking tissue in the wash 😡 so it's going round again.

I'm off into town to pick up a few bits shortly - probably as dd leaves. Hopefully my little list won't take me long & I can come back for a nap!

Tea will be something quick and easy from the freezer tonight, I cba with anything more exciting.

Later on, I'll flop in front of the tv for an hour or two before an early night & hopefully a better sleep (it's not all the kittens' fault - I was tossing & turning before they came to bed 🙄).

@lucysmam the tissue in the wash! I feel your pain and why is it always on a dark wash. Looks overcast here today and can feel
some breeze and have opened every door and window possible. Dropped my eldest DD at work, then taking my DH and DD2 to the station as they are out for the day. Then I’m taking my parents shopping to them. I slept badly because of the heat so I’m hoping for a side snooze later. Have a good day all.

Good morning @Lucysmam and others. I had a rotten night and was up drinking tea at three o'clock, so a lazy day ahead for me. I've had two coffees and 2 slices of raisin and cranberry loaf. I'm still sitting in my jammies, half watching the Olympics. Today will be a lazy day I think. Cheese omelette for dinner tonight. Enjoy your day.

We're having the last full day of our holiday. We're on the SE coast.

We've been here 9 days and we've had absolutely glorious weather, which is unheard of over the past 4 years we've been doing UK holidays.

Today is actually grey and drizzly (the first time since we got here!) so we're going to head for the rockpools, have ice cream before lunch and maybe hit the arcade later. I am not an arcade fan but we did promise it. I want to buy a few prints to take home so I want to pop into a local gallery and we'll have a mooch in the charity shops.

Tonight we have dinner booked at a nice restaurant overlooking the sea. We have booked an outside area so fingers crossed.

It's been a lovely, busy, warm holiday and I'll be sad to leave but I can't wait to see my two cats. Missed them so much.

Morning @lucysmam and the Saturday morning gang. I'm at the hairdresser's. My hair is covered in dye and I'm sipping a latte. Need to drop DD into the nearby town for a job interview at 12.30. After that I'll do my shopping.

Tissues are the worst and always in a dark wash!
I've done one load of washing. Just back from Parkrun. Still very warm despite looking overcast.
I'm heading to Greenwich market to pick up some lovely handmade soap which I discovered on my last visit there. I'll also have a mooch around the food stalls and pick up some cakes.
Later will watch some of the Olympics. Dinner and then Wicked little letters on Netflix.
Saturday is my favourite day of the week.

Will nip into town for a couple of padded envelopes to send my phone off for a replacement. (Dropped and smashed so insurance replacing)

Sweep the decking out the back, and spray some disinfectant in the bins as they are a little smelly.

Hopefully move some rubbish from the back to front and maybe add the decorative gravel that’s been there since lockdown to the bedding boxes that have also been empty since lockdown.

Not enough washing to put on a full load, so that can wait.

I love these threads but never post on them! I having a pain au choc with a cup of tea waiting for dh and dd to get out of bed so I can change the bedsheets. Then I will be sanding down the holes I've filled in dds bedroom walls and doing a big clear out of her room. Getting ready to redecorate it.

Hi @lucysmam and everyone 👋 I’ve never joined in before, but always love reading these threads full of simple pleasures and no drama! I’m currently snuggled up with the dog, who is still sulking about how wet we got on our morning walk. I’ve also been to the shop and done a wash. Hopefully the rain will clear and I can get it outside soon…
Rest of the day I want to be in the garden pottering and being gently productive, then start on my new book. Not sure what DP is going to make us for tea, perhaps a Thai curry. Have a lovely day!

About to have a shower, then will head out when DD’s carers get

DP and I will head to our local cafe for coffee and cake and then we’re treating ourselves to a trip to the dump! Largin’ it.
Not sure what we’ll do about lunch.
Shopping arriving around tea time. Will enlist DD’s help to unpack and put away - she loves doing that. Something snacky for supper and once DD’s asleep we’ll probably watch the second half of Free Solo (will he make it safely up that rock?? The suspense is palpable!)

Morning lucysmam & everyone. Up early & at Tescos before 8.30 but seems everyone else had the same idea & it was really busy. I got trolley rage more than once! Now having a cuppa & thinking very hard about doing the dishwasher, bleaching the surfaces & hoovering. Clock watching as I start work at 12. DD15 is at her GF’s & due back early evening. She will probably have Maccies & DH & I will get KFC. Must remember to defrost a salmon tail & a chicken breast for tomorrow.

Good morning everyone, what a lovely thread! I hope you don’t mind me popping on. I’m still in bed scrolling on my phone as didn’t get in from work until 11.30pm and usually sit up watching news / friends until I’m wound down enough for bed.

Ds2 is sitting next to me, determined to solve his Rubik’s cube. Dd is just getting up as she’s meeting her friend and ds1 is still asleep. I think me and the two boys will go out for a walk by the beach and maybe get some lunch from the kiosk or pop to the garden centre for lunch.

Washing is in the machine and I’ll get it on the line after my shower. I’m working at 3, until 11pm ish.

Its village show day here in Dorset! I've been up since 6am baking and just dropped off my entries...hall has closed for judging, results at 2pm 🤞

Good morning everyone, thankfully it’s a much cooler morning here in my corner of Wiltshire. I don’t have anything much planned for today as haven’t been sleeping well in the heat.
DH has taken the dog out for a long walk, I’ve tidied around and have just enjoyed avocado and smoked salmon on sourdough, my favourite breakfast treat. When I’ve finished my coffee I will get on with the border on my crochet blanket, it’s slow going 🙄

We are very lucky to live right by the sea, so I'm currently watching my kids build sandcastles on the beach. Then we'll wander up to the beach cafe for a snack.

Tidying up the garden this afternoon and thinking about what to have for dinner are the next tasks 😂

Last weekend of the summer holidays for us (and judging by the weather, summer is definitely over - rain rain rain) so I'm spending the day cooking, making things I can stick in the freezer for my lunches as I start my work placement on Monday and will need to take a packed lunch every day (instead of a nice free hot lunch at my school).

DS has two friends round, they're taking turns to play minecraft together and eating my muffins that are supposed to be for my lunches!

DD is just waking up, been trying to wake her up for the last two hours. Soon she will want to watch She-Ra with me.

OH is playing guitar in the basement, as always.

I'm back home and on my own for the first time in three weeks. Silence is bliss

Had a lay in but about to head out to the supermarket for the weekly shop. It's a 2 mile walk each way so needs some motivation!

Will get something delicious for lunch while out I think then I'm off out for dinner later, probably for Caribbean food 🤤

Tomorrow will consist of a run and a lot of housework I think

I’m only just up after a long lie-in, it was my first week back at work after our holiday so think I needed it.

A slow morning here as we overdid the wine last night as had friends here for dinner. Second dishwasher load is on and kitchen is almost back to normal. Have a wash on too. Hopefully no tissues!

Waiting on joiner to arrive to finish wardrobe he is building in DS’s room. He was supposed to be here by 11.

A lazy day planned really but need to get a few jobs done so may look at my list and pick and easy one. Clear out and clean the fridge or sort the medicine cupboard? The excitement of it all!

Hoping to get an hour in the garden later with my book too.

Morning @lucysmam, I always love your threads. I'm currently watching the Olympic golf. Will shortly be picking up DS16's girlfriend to go to my parents for lunch. DS and girlfriend have then said they'll make me some banana bread this afternoon, in return I'm treating them to Nandos this evening!

Apart from that, I plan to have a golf practice of my own and watch more Olympics, loving all of it!

It's 7 am here in the US. I've been waiting for the shops to open as I am having UTI symptoms. Just sent my partner off after test strips and medication.

Tidied the living room this morning before taking the children to soft play for an hour. Left when I spotted signs ds2 was becoming dysregulated. Walk home via Tesco express for popcorn and chocolate buttons which are now being ate in front of toy story 2. Got to do some cleaning upstairs this afternoon.
