I'm just in my kitchen spot, drinking my first cuppa of the day. The kittens are snoozing after a night full of purring next to my head 💤. Dd1's up too - she has work at 11:30 so needs to leave at 10:30 ish.

I'd have some washing on the line already but there was a fucking tissue in the wash 😡 so it's going round again.

I'm off into town to pick up a few bits shortly - probably as dd leaves. Hopefully my little list won't take me long & I can come back for a nap!

Tea will be something quick and easy from the freezer tonight, I cba with anything more exciting.

Later on, I'll flop in front of the tv for an hour or two before an early night & hopefully a better sleep (it's not all the kittens' fault - I was tossing & turning before they came to bed 🙄).

What about all of you? 🙂

I was just thinking I hadn't been on one of these threads for a while. Hello all!

I see your tissue issue and I raise you ... the cotton wall pad that daughter put in the wash this week.

I'm exhausted today after my first week back at work after my leave. Work is mental in the summer holidays, plus my two at home. So no plans today, although we have just spent the morning sorting daughter's drawers ready for uni - she's a massive hoarder so we're doing one item of furnature at a time. Successful morning - one bin bag full and a stash onto Vinted.

Got mince out last night for bolognese tonight. On a huge diet atm so might make cauliflower rice for mine.

I see your tissue and cotton wool pad and raise you MY bank card and £10 my husband left in his shorts for the wash.
I'm claiming the £10 as loot and going for coffee and cake with it on my own.
Got a couple more jobs to do in town first.
Have been conscious of the riots that are going off in different cities but it doesn't seem to be a feeling here.

DD got the job Smile. She had her interview and then we went grocery shopping and she got the good news (via e-mail) when we were in the middle of Tesco. It's just a part-time job to fund her bus fares and nights out while at college, but she's very relieved. She starts on Thursday.

Fabulous news! Well done to your DD.

I read these threads but never post. Busy day for me running DD to the stables and back, taking the guinea pigs to get their nails trimmed, and having the opportunity to clear DD's room out while she was out of the house.

A very lazy saturday here, its nice and warm so our daughter is in the paddling pool with the dog, our son is at the park with some friends.

We’re going camping next week, sites all booked etc, but apparently we need to watch run throughs of each camp site, videos of how to erect the tent, and google earth run throughs of the journey and walks to parks etc. So that will be my exciting evening.

@Taytocrisps Does that also mean staff discount on the food shop?

Taytocrisps · 03/08/2024 17:14

@Simonjt the jobs isn't with Tesco. We just happened to be in Tesco when she got the news. But it's a shop job (homewares) so I'm still hoping she gets a staff discount.
