Any tips on keeping it tidy down there, without the raging shaving rash?
Not interested in professional waxing.

Leave it as nature intended

If the OP had asked for a vegetarian recipe, would you suggest she cooks a joint of beef? 🙄

How do you normally keep it tidy OP, and why is it no longer working for you?

Aussieland · 01/08/2024 18:04

Laser? A few sessions and then a trim of what’s left works for me. Waxing was hideous for me but laser was not bad at all especially if it’s just for the stragglers

I use a feminine razor and buzz cut it. Nor short enough to get a rash

Braun electric razor. It also has an epilator head which I use on my armpits. Ouch!

Thanks for the suggestions. Just a normal razor (wet shave) at the moment but as infrequently as possible due to the awful skin reaction!

Just to reiterate - I don't want any professional treatments (embarrassment factor).

Do you have a link please? Or favourite brand?

petitdonkey · 01/08/2024 18:16

I use Nair sensitive- it has never given me an adverse reaction and lasts for ages. Just apply, wait ten minutes and then shower off (it comes with a little scraper tool that makes it super easy!)

I use an electric razor. You can get a really close shave if you're careful. I put talc on before to stop at soreness/chaffing

Wisenotboring · 01/08/2024 19:18

Do you need to do anything? Personally I favour a less is more approach. An occasional trim and a quick zip along the bikini line with a razor and shaving cream. Not too much as I would get a rash.

Edited

Just do not get distracted. 20 minutes is too long. Chemical burns down there are not funny. (Well, I can laugh now. I couldn't then.)

StepsInTime · 01/08/2024 20:21

One of these and it takes a couple of mins every couple of weeks

Wet shave with a Venus Raspberry razor, using hair conditioner as opposed to shaving gel or soap. The razor glides. Skin types vary greatly, but ensure a sharp blade to minimise rash.

Vert Sensitive is another option. Do the spot test first! Try “coaxing” the hair with a razor as opposed to just the plastic thingy.

But regular waxing is better. I’m in my 40s and had Hollywoods for as long as l can remember. Beauticians have seen it all before. Any embarrassment would be short lived.

toptopiary · 02/08/2024 10:58

Is it this one? @StarlightLady. I have labial hypertrophy, I'm fairly sure it's not something Beauticians will be used to seeing.

Fahbeep · 02/08/2024 16:53

It's very effective on the perineum and anus! Done carefully of course.

KnittedCardi · 02/08/2024 16:55

Electric shaver for around and about, and scissors for the undercarriage. Occasionally wet shave bikini line in addition.

Tried waxing bikini line, never again. Fucking horrendous. Generally just keep it all short and neat.
