Chanel no 5 smells terrible.

I don't get why people like Chanel no 5. It smells horrible to me. Musty and cat pee.

I also strongly dislike patchouli and anything with patchouli in. Does Chanel no 5 have patchouli? Maybe that could be why?

Anyone else, or am I alone?

I used to like it but haven’t for years.
Arpege is the one I really hate, smells like rotting flesh.
Bleu by Chanel is wonderful though.

I bought Youth Dew blind as it was in offer in JL. Smells like Coke to me. I like it though.

Does anyone remember Madonna's album that she doused in patchouli in her 'hippy' phase?
I don't mind the smell. I wouldn't wear it though.
