A number of people became unwell after a lady opened her bag near them. I hope and pray this isn’t what it appears to be.

Sorry, I can’t add links on my phone.

Can't see it on BBC app as yet.

Today is a day of lots of horrid stories.

One's just come out about Huw, whi I've seen present news hundreds of times and probably including doing pieces on child abuse etc when he's a perpetrator himself.

Then another story where a guy was pushed onto train tracks because the man thought he looked 'disrespectfully' at him.

It’s been a horrible day today, and it just leaves you feeling rubbish. However, I know my feelings are nothing compared to those going through it all.

Oh no. I hope today doesn't represent the start of a spate of incidents. The Merseyside incident sounds awful. Now Bath.

I believe there has now been a 17yr old male arrested for the incident in Southport, and it is thought not to be related to terrorism.

I know how you feel though.

The news is a wild ride today. How absolutely horrific for everyone involved everywhere.

Howtoeatanelephant · 29/07/2024 21:05

Someone been to Lush!

frankincenseandoranges · 29/07/2024 21:17

What does it appear to be?

What does it appear to be?

I was wondering this too!

KeirSpoutsTwaddle · 29/07/2024 21:30

It’s reminiscent of the Salisbury attacks, so they will have been extremely careful in how it was handled.
I’m concerned that they aren’t talking about having her in custody!

Live locally, have just heard that the cordon around the scene has been lifted, as apparently no risk to the public.

Not heard any suggestions yet about what it might be.

It’s all gone very quiet, which I guess is understandable until more facts are known.

It's right by the Primark/Abbey collinades/Queen's bath entrance.

I've got to go past tomorrow morning, can't help but wonder what it will be like.

The photo shown online is right next to the grills in the floor that provide the ventilation and light to the (Roman) tunnels.umderneath Stall Street. You used to be able to stand on them and look down into the tunnels

Edited for spelling.

WindsurfingDreams · 29/07/2024 23:33

It's really odd. I can't quite figure out whats happened. It did bring me back to the Salisbury poisoning

lazzapazza · 29/07/2024 23:46

Sorry the lady and bag was a red herring. My HB walked past at this exact moment and farted.

Apologies on his behalf.

KenAdams · 29/07/2024 23:57

The hazmat suited people with the lady in the background wearing normal summer class is a funny juxtaposition.

mrshoho · 30/07/2024 09:32

Has there been any updates on what exactly happened? Really strange as it must have been something serious to cause people to be hospitalised yet it hasn't been on the news today from what I've seen. Did they find the woman? Strange also there was no description.

HeartandSeoul · 30/07/2024 11:12

There is an update. A 73yr old lady has been arrested.

That is bizarre.

mrshoho · 30/07/2024 11:23

Thanks @HeartandSeoul . Agree @FiveShelties really odd!

LiterallyOnFire · 30/07/2024 11:23

Oo-er.

So a noxious substance that completely evaporates? And a very anti social pensioner. Weird one.

HeartandSeoul · 30/07/2024 11:50

It’s bizarre! I’m just thankful it wasn’t anything worse.
