... and so each day I'll be bringing you all the action. Today is the opening ceremony. There is plenty of entertainment. Here is the King's Drum and Bugle Band, led by Drum Major Jermaine Jacobs.

In the final match it's Leilani and Talita v Marrit and Ulla.

DH and I have just enjoyed today's sports. The diving was so skilfull - how did they get such clean entries into the water?

Thank you! @petalpower the little details are why I love Playmobil! @Lifeinlists they are just very good divers nothing to do with the fact they were carefully placed in the water and their heads were stuck to the bottom of the pool with blu-tac.

Terrific coverage as always. I would like to put forward a vote of thanks for the amazing camera work capturing the action, especially in the tennis and skateboarding, can’t be easy predicting where the competitors are going to be, but somehow the very knowledgeable camera teams always seem to be in the right place at the right time to get some great shots! I hope PlaymoTV have BAFTA equivalent awards for camera work.

(I have been watching a bit of the horse jumping in the other place, and in a worrying development it appears that the water jumps have been filled with what looks like blue wine, one of the riders mistimed the jump and the water splashed up was definitely blue wine. I don’t want to cause a panic buying rush in Playmo supermarkets, but I would lay in a few bottles if I lived there).

Oh dear @GCITC I'm not sure I'd be up for making a velodrome! That's why I settled for road cycling and mountain biking!
