What do you have for breakfast (Uk\Us)

I have one slice of toast or a bowl of cereal (cornflakes shreddies porridge in winter)

About 5 times a year crumpets or. Croissant / cinnamon bun.

Do people have cooked breakfast everyday?

Inspired by watching re run of ER (the whole thing from pilot to end, currently s6 ep 22) A few innocent lines of reference to breakfasts which I have read too much into )

Porridge with chopped-up apple or (defrosted) frozen fruit

shreddies

shredded wheat

eggs and toast

Cooked breakfast when on holiday, and occasionally at home

SecretWitch · 21/07/2024 22:11

I’m in the US. I generally have a cup of tea an hour or so after waking. I do one meal a day so I do not eat until 5 or so in the evening.

MyOtherCarisAVauxhallZafira · 21/07/2024 22:12

My favourite is greek yoghurt, fruit and walnuts yesterday I sliced up a nice rope peach and had that on the yogurt with walnuts crushed up over the top. This morning I had Weetabix and a few strawberries. DS and DH love overnight oats but I can't do mashed banana and without it the texture is a bit off for me.
Also like porridge especially in the winter, we get a big windfall of apples from MIL and i stew then with cinnamon (no sugar) , delicious.

I tend to skip breakfast but when I don’t, I either have porridge with blackberries or scrambled eggs on toast (uk)

minicop · 21/07/2024 22:13

Yogurt, toast, cereal or if it's a Sunday a bacon butty

Octavia64 · 21/07/2024 22:14

Toast

Porridge,

I only have a cooked breakfast if I'm staying in a hotel or similar. I do love a good hotel breakfast though!

ElmTree22 · 21/07/2024 22:15

Peanut butter and marmite on toast x 2 usually sourdough or wholemeal crusty loaf

Or 2x weetabix with blueberries, flaxseed, chia seeds and agave syrup.

Special occasions are homemade pancakes with strawberries and ganache or cooked breakfast (homemade hashbrowns, veggie sausages, mushrooms, tomatoes, spinach, scrambled tofu, beans and sourdough with avocado.

Thanks OP, I'm now ready for breakfast 🥞

UK. Don't have breakfast.

25percent · 21/07/2024 22:17

I have two boiled or scrambled eggs or a piece of fruit mid morning. Just coffee before that.

yeesh · 21/07/2024 22:18

most days I have yogurt with berries & nuts, sometimes a protein bar. Usually have a cooked breakfast or a McDonald’s breakfast on the weekend

Changingplace · 21/07/2024 22:19

Either toast x2 with jam, marmite or butter, or cereal of some description, sometimes with fresh fruit, occasionally in winter porridge.

At least two cups of tea.

Very rarely have cooked breakfast unless I’m on holiday in a hotel.

Emmeline1894 · 21/07/2024 22:19

Eggs, boiled or scrambled with a piece of toast about 10:30. Occasionally oats/ granola Greek yoghurt and fruit. Porridge in winter. Sausage sandwich weekends

Devilsmommy · 21/07/2024 22:19

LibertyDuck · 21/07/2024 22:20

Cheese sandwich and a banana.

llamajohn · 21/07/2024 22:21

Eggs and cheese most days in the form of omelette/ dippy eggs, // sandwich/roll/wraps or scrambled in toast etc. occasionally I'll bash out a shakshuka..

Most weekends on one day we have thick pancakes with syrup or sweet spreads, or bacon and maple, or berries and yoghurt.

Occasionally have porridge with peanut butter and mayo some chocolate chips in, Or a breakfast muffin with sausage patty, cheese, egg etc. if i fancy it..

Might sometimes have marmite on toast or a pastry like a croissant or pain au chocolat
.

LizzieLine · 21/07/2024 22:24

Mon-Fri I rarely eat breakfast. Occasionally porridge in the winter, or yoghurt & granola & fruit if I wake up hungry (rarely).

At weekends, I get up late and feel hungry, so often have scrambled eggs on brown toast. Occasionally coffee and a pastry or croissant.

Ineedaholidayyyy · 21/07/2024 22:25

UK here , I never make a full cooked breakfast at home.

I mainly stick to porridge, greek yogurt and cereal like weetabix. Quite boring, but I don't have much of an appetite in the morning. Occasionally I'll have something pasty/bread based , like a chocolate croissant or danish bun, I'd happily eat these everyday if I wasn't watching my weight!

On a Saturday I will make bacon or sasuage butties.

Liv999 · 21/07/2024 22:26

Weetabix, overnight oats with raspberries, banana and honey, or scrambled egg and toast

Nomorecoconutboosts · 21/07/2024 22:30

UK
most days fruit (grapes most often, sometimes chopped apple, pear, banana. Sometimes berries)
kefir or Greek yogurt poured over.
granola (quantities depend on how healthy I want to be or how hungry I am)
black coffee, sometimes fennel tea afterwards

mitogoshi · 21/07/2024 22:30

Couple of slices of toast and either jam, smashed avocado, pate or sliced cheese depending on what the mood takes me on week days. Weekends we tend to have brunch
