No roast sadly.
I'm looking forward to my dinner though. I got some discounted tenderstem, and gonna do baked salmon and la ratte potatoes with that. Maybe some lentil, feta and beetroot salad on the side as well.

Roast chicken, roast potatoes, honey roast carrots and parsnips in the same tray because that's how I roll, runners, maybe some broccoli depending on how many runners I've got left, stuffing, and a glass of wine or two to aid in the cooking of it 😊

Roast chicken with a tray bake of whatever veggies are in the fridge-courgette, carrot, red onion, maybe broccoli.

We had odd hash browns and bacon sandwiches which was a Hello Fresh meal.
For dinner it's homemade soup and toast.

watchingtheweather · 21/07/2024 15:28

Raspberry and white choc cake in cafe, then a peach and an avocado when I got home. Out again later for a few beers then I plan to have a Spanish omelette and green salad.

softmauve · 21/07/2024 15:33

Roast chicken here, with kale, petite pois and dauphinois potatoes, gravy too. I'll possibly make bread sauce also.
No pudding as can't be bothered.

We will eat our main meal this evening as in and out all day. For lunch bruschetta, and for dinner this baked cod with lemon and garlic. It doesn't sound all that exciting but the fish is coated with a mix of spices before being baked with a really lemony, garlicky sauce. It feels light but really packs a punch in terms of flavour. Will serve with some roasted baby potatoes and a couple of salads.

Pretty please could you share the recipe?!

Valeriesimpleton · 21/07/2024 15:41

Marks and Spencer dusted cod, Marks and Spencer petit pois and Marks and Spencer lemon drizzle cake. Tea then Marks and Spencer salt and vinegar crisps. Guess where I went shopping today...other half will have something later, probably steak and peas. We have both had bariatric surgery so don't eat huge meals and tend to cater for ourselves.

I'm always impressed at the number of people who do a Roast on a Sunday (especially in summer!).

I don't know what we'll have. I might make a quick lasagne (using creme fraiche on top to make it quicker and lighter).

Nellieinthebarn · 21/07/2024 15:47

Just the two of us today, but I still fancied a roast. I did chicken breasts wrapped in bacon with roast potatoes, roast carrots and courgettes with red onion peas and gravy. And, yorkshires, stuffing balls homemade but frozen. Followed by homemade lemon meringue pie, which we can have again.

Billybobbbi · 21/07/2024 15:52

Shoulder of lamb roasted with garlic and rosemary, new potatoes, runner beans, spinach and gravy.

Femalefootyfan · 21/07/2024 15:56

We had lamb steak with new potatoes, mashed swede, runner beans, tenderstem broccoli, petit pois, gravy and mint sauce. We have strawberries and creme fraiche for later

Tarquina · 21/07/2024 15:58

I've just had mine it was a tub of Yorkshire provender chicken soup with a cooked chicken thigh shredded into it and a dash of double cream. Unusually I will have half a liter of ice cream because I happen to have bought it today. This will be my only meal today.

leeverarch · 21/07/2024 16:03

Lemon & herb chicken and Mediterranean vegetable traybake, with couscous and some left over from yesterday coleslaw.

MyBigFatGreekSalad · 21/07/2024 16:04

Creamy truffle Mushroom and leek pie with broccoli.

It's quite humid today though so not looking forward to cooking it😅

EarthyMamma · 21/07/2024 16:04

We have just had lunch in the garden.
Cheese oatcakes, cheddar, Boursin and feta with a salad and olives.

Later we are having sausages, new potatoes, tenderstem broccoli, Hesta flat beans (from M&S) and broad beans from the garden.

I love these simple meals in the summer and it is finally warm enough to eat outside without the humidity driving me indoors, breathless and sweating!

Vettrianofan · 21/07/2024 16:05

Mince and tatties

EarthyMamma · 21/07/2024 16:06

Just realised my timing for lunch is odd.
I am not feeling very well so I have lost me sense of the day passing.
I do usually eat lunch at lunchtime 😂

Oganesson118 · 21/07/2024 16:08

We often have a roast but didn't feel like it this week so I'm doing a Caribbean lamb curry with rice and peas. One of our favourites. No idea how authentically Caribbean it is, but that's what the recipe book we found it in calls it.

We planned to go to a Chinese buffet.
Decided to make paprika chicken.
Friend asked us to go to the pub.
Might go to the Chinese after.
😋

Ofcoursehesthefkingfarmer · 21/07/2024 16:22

home grown roast piggy. Currently contemplating whether I CBA with roasties as realistically the kids would prefer mash. Not sure on the veggies, will have to see whether there is any kale ready for creamed kale. I’ve got onions and courgettes coming out of my ears but I don’t know what to do with them in the context of a roast!

MrsMitford3 · 21/07/2024 16:25

It's too hot for a roast.
