This quiz is aimed more at kids so includes films I think most young people would have heard of. Another version that includes slightly older films is here.
The page linked above includes versions to print out or edit / adapt, and a text-based version of the quiz for screen-readers or reading aloud. There's also a PowerPoint version. There are articles about the intersection of emojis with computer science history (e.g. the first graphic 'icons' were mapped out on squared paper). You could print out some blank gridded paper and and get your kids to design their own emoji...
Emoji are also studied in the fields of communication, linguistics and in human-computer interaction.
