Do you agree? My top 3 has been the same since I was a child:

  1. Cherry
  2. Mango
  3. Peach

(Have to add raspberry as 4th as I'm particularly obsessed with them at the moment!)

Melon (specifically piel de sapo)
Strawberries
Passion fruit

Cherries are the best but mangoes in the Dominican Republic are on another level 🥭 ate my body weight in them when I was there 🥰

Tangelos. Bonza apples (that specific type. not Granny Smiths, etc), perfect nectarines.

I adore cherries, definitely top of my list. Followed by raspberries and mangos (recent convert to mango - can't get enough of them!)

I grew up in an area of Oxfordshire where there were a lot of soft fruit farms. My childhood summers involved a lot of strawberry and raspberry picking (lots of pick your own places). Very occasionally we could pick cherries - I remember once being chased by a goat in a cherry orchard 😂. One year in my teens I got a job picking strawberries - heaven 😊

My late DM and I continued to visit a small pick your own place until she died. I haven't felt like going back since - but Happy Memories

Bloody love cherries. They remind me of my dad, who also loved them. He’d have a big brown paper bag on the go and be passing me the odd slack handful.

I even love the word. Cherry. Cherries. It sounds delicious.

I’ve even got a cherry blossom tattoo on my foot!

Raspberries
Apricots
Pears

You can rent a cherry tree in Kent apparently. they do the work and you go down and pick when you tell them to. Dd's just come back from her boyfriend's with a huge amount.

What! I'm in Kent, looking into it now!

I like your taste in fruit!

Mine are: 1. raspberries, 2. cherries, 3. mango, 4. dragonfruit (must be decent, which is difficult to get unless in Thailand), and 5. pomelo!

BigFatSober · 14/07/2024 21:21

So true! "Cherry" "cherries", sounds so cheerful, juicy, sweet and happy!

Apricots
Lemons
Honeydew melon
Victoria plums would be 4th,

I adore apricots, unfortunately it's been years since I've had a delicious, ripe one. So hard to come by!

Riverford do really good apricots.

spamandeggs · 16/07/2024 20:28

Lychee's
Cherries
Cantaloupe melon

Swisscave · 16/07/2024 20:38
  1. Peaches. There’s nothing better than when you get a good one. I’m really appreciating that they are actually in the supermarkets this year as it’s been impossible the last few years and only nectarines in stores. Not those silly flat ones though.
  2. Cherries. Had a whole punnet today and each one was perfect. Which is rare, there’s usually some wrong‘uns
  3. Pinapple. Though can’t be bothered cutting it up, so don’t usually buy.
  4. Macintosh apples- soft, fleshy and so sweet. I love those apples but haven’t seen one in years and years! Everyone wants crunchy crisp apples.
  5. Oranges but a faff to cut to don’t buy often
Justmemyselfandi999 · 16/07/2024 20:40

Love cherries, but can't believe no one else has mentioned rhubarb, my favourite!

BobbyBiscuits · 16/07/2024 20:42

Pineapple
Melon (the yellow or orange one, not watermelon)
Then a tie between cherries and mango.

I always wish cherries had a stronger flavour, if that makes sense?! Like I wish they tasted more like cherry flavouring?! Sour cherry juice is absolutely delicious! Really expensive though.

luckylavender · 16/07/2024 20:56

Absolutely. I love cherries. Top 3 cherries, apricots & raspberries
