I've been up a while this morning. Dd1's off on a residential at Newcastle Uni until Tuesday so I'm making bacon and sausage sarnys for breakfast, before her long train journey.

Once she's gone, I'll tidy my stuff we moved to get at travel bottles & toothbrush holder, and get dressed.

We're decorating dd2's bedroom while dd1's away so we'll shift stuff about in her room, and move dd2 into dd1's room this morning. This afternoon I plan to clean the fridge thrilling and then actually start a crafty project!

Gammon for tea, with roast baby spuds and salad I think 😋 followed by something sweet. Then it's showers & get sorted for the week before an hour with my book, and bed 💤

What about all of you? 🙂

@lucysmam Good morning! It’s a beautiful sunny morning here, the dog and I were out before 7.30 on a lovely walk across the fields and woods. It was so good to be outside.
I am enjoying toast with avocado, fried tomatoes and an egg and a milky coffee before I go outside and do a bit of deadheading the roses etc. DH was up crashing around at 5am, he’s gone kayaking 🙄; I have a lovely day with just the dog.
I hope you have a lovely day ahead.

marshmallowfinder · 14/07/2024 09:18

Work, as usual.

RabbitsRock · 14/07/2024 09:23

Morning lucysmam & everyone. I desperately need to clean my fridge too! Clockwatching atm as I start work at 10. Wondering if I have time for a 2nd cuppa before I go. Tidying & dusting needs doing when I get home. I could write my name on the piano! Excited for the final. Got my 3 lions t shirt ready. Go England!! 🇬🇧⚽️🇬🇧⚽️ Bought Asda pizzas yesterday as don’t want to be faffing about cooking. Couldn’t believe they’d already run out of some toppings at 2pm. I really fancied Hawaiian but there was no pineapple. Ended up having what DH has every time (pepperoni, meatballs, peppers & mushrooms). Have a lovely Sunday all

Good morning @lucysmam and all. Woken up by my 3YO as usual early today. Had a cup of tea. We will leave for his swim lessons in a bit.

Lunch / tea would be simple.

Kebabs, crisps and beer (wine for me) for dinner with the England football match.

HoneyButterPopcorn · 14/07/2024 09:24

Planting ginger in tubs. Had a load from the market (we eat loads) and left it in the kitchen and forgot about it. Some nice sprouts so it’s going into some tubs (I’ve never managed to grow it before). I also have my tomatoes and chillis to plant out.

HoneyButterPopcorn · 14/07/2024 09:25

Also got flights to book (we are going away next week). Nothing like leaving things to the last minute huh?

PermanentTemporary · 14/07/2024 09:29

Good morning! Gorgeous day, we've changed the bed and I'm having scrambled eggs and coffee. I wish i didn't have to sit in a car to see my mum but I will take her outside when I get there. Dp will go and see his parents at the same time. Back home to potter in the garden and maybe a walk before the footie. I worked the last six days so am longing for a quiet one (but will have to do an hour's catch up).

Chelsea26 · 14/07/2024 09:35

Morning all!

I’m lying in bed in my hotel room in turkey, which sounds lovely but sadly I’m here and not by/in the pool as I broke my ankle on Wednesday, had an operation on Friday and am now on crutches and in a moon boot for weeks!

Our charming, idyllic hotel is built into a cliff so there are stairs everywhere that make getting around quite hard.

I’m going to venture down to the pool about lunchtime and sit there for a few hours and we’re going to the hotel restaurant for dinner tonight before back to our room for wine/beer/snacks and the football.

Not quite what we had planned but making the best of it!

RosieposiePuddingandPi · 14/07/2024 09:36

Morning all!
We're having a chilled morning so far, the kids are colouring and I have coffee.
We need to swing by Asda in a bit to pick up DD's birthday cake and then we're off to a soft play for her party with 10 hyped up, over-excited 5 year olds so that will be a joy!
I think we're going to my Dad's after to see him after he's been away on holiday for a while and then home to get things sorted for the week. Hoping for some sunshine so we can get out in the garden later!

Justonedayatatime11 · 14/07/2024 09:40

Morning @lucysmam.

My annoying body clock woke me up at 5.30, despite today being the only day of the week I can lie in. Went and read for a bit and have just got back into bed whilst DH makes me a much needed coffee.

Very few plans today. Sort the animals, put some bedding on to wash, possibly bake something, lots of bananas to use up. Full English for brunch/lunch and then collect DD from her dads.

I definitely won't be watching the football tonight! So I'll hope for an early night and the will to get through the last 5 days of school with no upset or drama!

frozendaisy · 14/07/2024 09:40

Pottering so everything, absolutely everything down to the last sock is ready for tomorrow morning.

Mexican wraps for dinner so 6 separate dishes to make throughout the day.

Collect eldest from his activity weekend.

Then it's build up for the F-word. Popped into local yesterday, god it's going to be mayhem out there, we won't be joining the masses.

Half football heavy, half football fair weather very light household. Most of us have seen every kick of England's ball so far, so yeah it's Final Day for us. It's an odd feeling Final Day, we've only ever experienced one before, that one was super weird.

So will be playing football songs, watching build-up, managing expectations, having fun, hoping for the youngster it's not too heartbreaking (although he prefers playing to watching).

Go to bed late either crest-fallen or elated. Hope it's a good game either way.

Cheersmedears123 · 14/07/2024 09:41

I was left to have a lie in this morning which was lovely. Just about to get moving and make myself a coffee. We’ll have a fry up for breakfast.

I could do with sticking the hoover round and doing a load of washing and then DS has got, not one, but two birthday parties to go to this afternoon! Hence DH leaving me to lie in as he’s getting away with these ones. Then later we’ll have something simple for dinner and get the footy on. Come on England!

FlorencenotRatchet · 14/07/2024 09:41

Morning @lucysmam and all happy Sunday.
Just finished volunteering at junior Parkrun.
Am off to get some breakfast and then for a look around the Tate Britain and then making the most of the sunshine.
Tonight will be watching the football.
Enjoy your day everyone.

TheChosenTwo · 14/07/2024 09:46

Lying in bed after a busy day yesterday which has left my body aching!
I can hear dh having a kitchen sort out.
dc1 is away for a few days, dc2 is getting ready for work, dc3 is in bed possibly reading but I can’t be bothered getting up just yet 😂
Today we are doing some garden things, going out for a walk and lunch and then dh has invited some people over tonight for the football. I’ll be going to the gym, it’s been very quiet there during the matches!

Rowgtfc72 · 14/07/2024 10:08

Sat watching Goodwood festival of speed on TV in my pjs with dh and sausage dog.
Dd finally got up as she has a driving lesson at half eleven ( test on the 27th)
Off to pets at home in a bit for a dog bed, he's nearly two and still sleeps in his too small crate- his choice- so he's getting a replacement he can't refuse!

mondaytosunday · 14/07/2024 10:10

Morning! Second day back from holiday, still remnants of hideous cold, but the sun is shining today which is slightly more motivation.
I've fed cats let dogs out and had a cup of tea. Kitchen a mess from last night (DD cooked and is not very good at the washing up bit). So I'll tackle that while making some brunch. She needs to upload her grade certs for uni so we'll do that today. Need to water the garden and house plants - asked housesitters to do it but doesn't look like they did. Could unpack - but I left before my DD and she used my room to chuck stuff in so I've got to get that all out first (including a pile of her clean laundry).
Tomorrow back to the grind so trying to eke out the holiday bubble for one last day so not going to stress about things yet.
Fortunately my DD cleaned the fridge before she left so that's one thing I don't have to bother with!
@Chelsea26 that's a shame! Twisted my knee (aggravating an old injury) on my flight out and spent most of the holiday hobbling around! Then we all got a bad colds. But actually breaking something! Hope you can still enjoy yourself.

Twotimesrhymes · 14/07/2024 10:12

Hi all, need to get the big shop in but will wait until tomorrow evening (got a few bits out of the freezer)
so big of a bbq (chicken skewers, burgers and I’ll make homemade wedges)
want to watch Wimbledon men’s finals

ds started a new book (he’s got back into reading and I’m delighted) younger ds will play with his Lego i am sure

not much else planned

Topsy44 · 14/07/2024 10:13

Morning Lucysman and All.

Got up at 6 to feed the cat and then went back to bed and woke up at 9 so nice to have a lie in.

DD is getting on with her English project which needs to be finished tomorrow, I need to do the hoovering and get a wash on (which was supposed to be done yesterday but I did end up watching the tennis in the afternoon and not much else got done!) and then I will call my elderly Mum for a good chat.

Got to pop to the shops as realised we don’t have enough butter for making cup cakes with DD later. I don’t really want to venture out to the shops as I think it’s going to be a bit hectic with people getting pre match snacks but it’s got to be done!

Will watch the tennis this afternoon and DD wants to watch the football this evening so will watch it with her. Hope you all have lovely Sundays and for those having last weeks of term hope all goes well

fuzzybritches · 14/07/2024 10:15

We had a really busy day yesterday and not feeling 100% so I'm using today to have a guilt free lazy day. Still lots of chores to do. Will wash the bedding, sweep and mop then maybe have a bit of a declutter. Going to take dd out later to get some baking bits so we can make some fairy cakes later. Probably a quick dog walk at some point and then settling down for a Sunday roast and the football. Ds is out watching it with friends so I'll have to wait up for him.
Have a nice day everyone.

JMAngel1 · 14/07/2024 10:19

Morning @lucysmam and everyone.
Still in bed drinking cappuccino - had a lovely sleep until 8.30am - slept for 11 hours! Worked 6 days straight and yesterday at work nearly killed me with stress (NHS) so feel hollowed out today.

Going to make poached egg and avocado on sourdough shortly and tidy around a bit/ sort laundry.

Got a Yes Style skincare delivery yesterday which I still have to open - excited to try some new products - got some EGF ampoules to try which I’ve never used before 😊

Then will take DD2 to visit my Dad and after we’ll go for a walk and get Costa. DD1 is on a school trip abroad - keep
scanning my phone for updates/photos but think she’s having too much fun to remember her mum!

Chicken fajitas for dinner - will prob only watch first half of football - too late for me as I get up at 5am on work days 😔

Have a good Sunday.

JMAngel1 · 14/07/2024 10:29

@Chelsea26 sorry about your broken ankle - and on holiday - bless you! Hope you can still try and make the best of it.

Wazzzzzuuuuuuup · 14/07/2024 10:31

Good morning @lucysmam and all. Today DH brought me a coffee in bed whole I caught up with the trump news. No rush to do anything today so I brought more coffee and toast and fruit up and we are watching a cruising travel show and debating our next holiday. This morning I'm going to the gym (legs and shoulders today) followed by a swim and steam. Planning a light lunch of salad.

I'm expecting a delivery of floor cleaner so will do all my hard floors if it arrives in time. Then off to friends' around 6pm for dinner and football, they are doing pizzas and I am bringing salads and some wine.

Ploughmans · 14/07/2024 10:35

Good morning! We’re just heading down to the beach for a swim and a play in the sand. Quick lunch then kids have play dates this afternoon. Tacos for dinner with the football!

EwwSprouts · 14/07/2024 10:43

Just tea and news so far. It's raining and forecast to do so much of the day. Heading out to a pop up farm shop soon. WIll buy something for dinner. Planning on defrosting the freezer (the excitement!). Will watch the men's Wimbledon final but not the football. DH will watch the football with his brother and DS is going to watch it with friends.

AlisonDonut · 14/07/2024 10:44

Good morning. And Bonnes fêtes du 14 Juillet !!

Fed the cats, have chopped back the Akeba Quinata and trained some Passion Flower into its place. Socks are already wet as I was wearing my crocs.

So going to change my socks and go up to my summer house where I have put my new pottery wheel, and going to spend the rest of the day practicing turning pots, saving each one I successfully get off the damn thing and let them dry to practice carving them tomorrow.

And today's menu is veggie sausage and mash with carrots and onions and gravy. It's a winter menu here in the South of France in July these days.
