I've just made my first cuppa of the day, and fed the kittens. Now I'm going to sit in my kitchen spot with my tea for an hour or two, doing nothing much. It was injection day yesterday & I'm feeling a bit bruised 😥 & I'm signed off work so trying to properly relax.

Girl kitten's sat by my feet, and boy kitten's in the living room somewhere. He's normally very snuggly so this is new!

We haven't got much planned for the day. Dd2 will have homework so she'll probably do that. And dd1 needs to pack for the Newcastle Uni residential she's off to tomorrow (as well as think about organising her things for when we go away on Friday, and when she's in York next week).

I'm either going to nip into town for a new pair of black ballet flats to take away, and upgrade my little suitcase, or start something crafty. Not sure which yet 🤔. I actually might continue the deep clean of the house that I started on Friday maybe.

What about all of you? 🙂

Good morning Lucysmam and others. Just a quick visit as I'm heading out for second breakfast with a friend. Have a good day. Hope you aren't too sore.

OldTinHat · 13/07/2024 09:44

Morning!

Sounds like you have a lot going on @lucysmam. I hope you get it all done.

I have lots to do for my PIP review as much has changed since my original award. Luckily, I have a work coach to help me through the form, but I have to get all the evidence together to scan and send her.

Washing machine is almost finished. Builder has texted to say he'll be here at 11.30. Sun is shining. I've got to water the plants and clean out stinky pet and after that, I'll be back to crafting for a local charity.

@lucysmam I confess to ordering some peg people blanks (finally!) after yours inspired me!

WinterKate · 13/07/2024 09:48

I'm in the conservatory with the doors open letting the fresh air in. Got a lovely smoked salmon and cream cheese bagel. Will get sorted to take DS to gymnastics in a bit. After that we're heading to the fair in town then tonight out for friends birthday drinks. Lovely day!

lucysmam · 13/07/2024 09:53

@LadyMacbethssweetArabianhand I do enjoy a trip out for second breakfast! Have a lovely time with your friend.

@OldTinHat you'll have to show us what you do with them. I haven't done any in a while - I do have plans for some over summer though.

@WinterKate that does sound like a lovely day 😊

Good morning @lucysmam ! I always look forward to your posts.
I had my last Herceptin injection on Tuesday - yaaay! Now about to start a year of oral meds which I'm not looking forward to :(

I have had breakfast in bed, thanks to my lovely DH. I'm now contemplating getting up and doing something useful. I can smell the dianthus in our garden from my bed - gorgeous!

DH has popped out to Sainsbury's for a few things we need before Monday. I'm planning on tidying up the spare room and making up the bed in there today. We have my grandson next week as he has finished for the school holidays already, and I had the week booked off already (getting in a nice week off before I start my new meds, which have some horrible side effects and will probably mean I will need to put my life on hold for the next year!)

There's laundry to do, as usual, and I might cook a couple of chickens if DH gets them today. Grandson and I will be cooking next week, for ourselves and to take home for his family, and there are a couple of things that will need cooked chicken in them. If I cook them today I can strip the meat off the bones and portion it up for the freezer, to use when we need it.

I might carry on sewing little pouches to make into lavender bags. I am aware it would be quicker to get the sewing machine out and it would take me about 5 minutes - but I quite like doing it by hand and I can pick it up any time I have a few spare minutes.
Otherwise I have nothing planned - and nothing planned for tomorrow either. I ought to sort out my chairdrobe, so will probably do that.

Have a nice day - I hope you find what you want when shopping.

JamSandle · 13/07/2024 10:02

I'm going out for lunch and then the theatre. When I get home I'm going to treat myself to a McDonalds as I've been craving one all week!

CoffeandTiaMaria · 13/07/2024 10:07

Good morning @lucysmam and company, it feels more like a September morning here than mid-July ☹️. It must have been chilly overnight because the heating came on (thermostat set at 15°).
I have cleaned through the house, vacuumed throughout and it’s looking relatively tidy. DH is supposed to be walking the dog, if he doesn’t go soon I will take her out 🙄
I hope today goes well for you all🙏

TimeForRishiByeByes · 13/07/2024 10:07

My daughter is playing with her box of random toys from an online toy shop - one is a fishing net and tiny ducks it's been the hight of entertainment this morning.
She loves putting things in things.
Off out with our friends later for coffee and a cake perhaps a wonder round the library.

mechanicalpencil · 13/07/2024 10:14

Good morning @lucysmam and everyone!

I am at the start of one week’s unpaid leave which is much needed as I feel absolutely shattered and worn out from my job.
Have had tea and toasted fruit bread for breakfast. Later on, going to an M&S food hall to stock up on goodies for the week ahead.
Maybe a wander around the shops, keen to get some good quality socks that don’t get holes in after a few months. Any recommendations welcome!
Probably home for a nap and then dinner and Netflix.
Looking forward to a “Home Spa” tonight with bubble bath, Philip Kingsley shampoo/ conditioner and a full body moisturise after, which I rarely do as I am usually so exhausted by the end of the day.

Sending happy vibes to those who are feeling a bit off today.

Happy weekend everyone! ✨

RabbitsRock · 13/07/2024 10:16

Good morning @lucysmam & everyone. Hope you have a good weekend in Skegness lucysmam. I went there as a teen & remember the tide went out for miles! Still in bed but up soon as off to a shopping outlet to buy knee length shorts & black Velcro fastening flats for work. Asda haven’t had my size of shoes like that in forever! Will have a sneaky peek in TK Maxx & try not to buy more of their lovely toiletries! Might get a bra from M & S & look at light raincoats in Mountain Warehouse. Also need to pop to the butcher’s for sausages (bangers & mash tomorrow) & buy The Mirror as there’s a free National Trust pass in it. DB is down but goes home today so I’ll visit him at my parents place at some point. DD15 has her GF here who is being collected this afternoon. DH has a rare day off & plans to go for a bike ride. I have just booked a ticket for a musical at less than half price & it’s a really good seat too! Tea is kievs, jacket spuds & peas. Weather is better so we might go for a walk this evening & watch the sunset over the sea 🌅

MyGentleNavyTiger · 13/07/2024 10:18

Supposed to be taking DS (3.5) and DD (11 months) to a fire station open day this afternoon.

Husband is in the study doing unexpected work, so I’ve been left in charge of kids. Baby napping, washing on, just cooking chocolate croissant for DS to keep him entertained while I blitz some life admin…..

RabbitsRock · 13/07/2024 10:39

MyGentleNavyTiger I used to love taking DD to the fire station open day. Really miss her being little 😢

Dogskidsdogs · 13/07/2024 10:47

Morning @lucysmam . Slow start to the day as I am child free. Been sat with coffee and then a smoothie weighing up my options 😂. Had hoped to take the dogs a nice walk but it's raining and one refuses to go out in the rain so that's shelved for the moment! I'm thinking I may do some pottering/ cleaning and hope it brightens up! I have leftover Chinese for tea tonight so I'm planning to have that and a movie night- it's been a long week!

FlorencenotRatchet · 13/07/2024 10:57

Morning @lucysmam and all. Happy Saturday.
I've been to Parkrun. Showered, breakfast and a loaf of washing done.
Quite day today. Need to return a couple of parcels but must finish my professional revalidation today so it can be signed off next week. Left it to the last minute as usual!
Enjoy your day everyone.

Thislittlekitten · 13/07/2024 11:06

Morning all. Thoughts with everyone who is ill. Hope things improve.

Lazy morning so far after being up early with the dog. DH taking DS to the cinema. DD is in bed still. Dcats snoozing.

About to shower then take him for a longer walk. Want to go to the library and post office if I have time.
We are having lots of family round tomorrow so need to clean and buy food. Quiet night for night before tomorrows chaos.

HangingOver · 13/07/2024 11:12

I'm on a loooooong train journey and someone's little tike opposite has been singing loudly for the past hour 🫠 Kitten pics pls!

lucysmam · 13/07/2024 11:19

@HangingOver first two are girl kitten, the third is boy kitten 🥰

Notthatcatagain · 13/07/2024 11:22

Quiet day here, we are not dressed yet but have had a nice breakfast. Fresh fruit and yoghurt, boiled eggs and toast. Going to walk my acre, see what's growing then get dressed. I have an awkwardly shaped birthday present to wrap and some bits to get ready for an outing tomorrow. Will walk the dog first. Need to pop to the shop too. A friend is popping in later, luckily there is half a cake which I had expected the grand babies to hoover up yesterday. I've got a new top on the sewing table that just needs sleeves and a bit of lace trim,be nice if I could finish that to wear tomorrow. Easy dinner, chicken and chips, freezer to airfryer job. My IBS is hideous right now so I am catastrophically incontinent again. I'm hoping for a stoma later in the year to fix that. Currently trying not to think about 2 hours on the motorway tomorrow. Hope everyone is enjoying their Saturday

ShipshapeShore · 13/07/2024 11:23

Still sitting in my dressing gown, chain drinking hot drinks! I need to get up and do some tidying and cleaning but I'm low on energy due to anaemia and a hectic last week of term. Going to town later to buy a birthday present but I could happily sit here all day!

Ghost2 · 13/07/2024 11:32

DS and DD are doing some colouring, first quiet morning we've had in a while.
I've stripped all the beds and got the washing machine on, already got the towels drying outside. Bedrooms have been vacuumed as well.

Not long made a coffee so now I'm just scrolling through Shein on my phone and relaxing for a bit. Might do something crafty later, diamond painting or a jigsaw.

Violet17 · 13/07/2024 11:37

I was going to go for a walk and a free museum. Now I don't know if I have the energy after being awake until half four because of my teenager making bad choices, this led to me being called multiple times by various people through the night.

I have some washing to hang up which I put in the machine earlier. And I need to do some cleaning. It seems a shame not to pop out for a short while though as it is warm, not sunny right at this moment but it might come back out.

Struggling to motivate myself.

Crunchymum · 13/07/2024 12:08

Such beautiful little puddings you have there @lucysmam

My cats are such a huge part of the family.

We're all exhausted today. Just back from swimming / library / park. Making lunch soon and then daddy is taking the older two shopping as we need a few random bits (birthday present for party tomorrow, new trainers for DC1 and binoculars - told you it was random 😂)

Me and youngest are just going to chill at home. I've got some chores to do but we may have a cheeky nap.

Dinner will be easy. Grilled chicken and salad pittas with dips.

LadyMacbethssweetArabianhand · 13/07/2024 12:09

@lucysmam thank you. I enjoyed second breakfast and a good blether. I haven't seen this particular pal for a wee while as she has had covid, so a lot of catching up to do. I've dropped her at home and come home and delivered apricot jam to a lovely neighbour. I made a batch on Wednesday and have given loads away. Tomorrow I'll make lime curd for my son in law mainly. The rest of the day will be pottering. Have a good day all.
