Bushey murders latest: Police hunt suspect after wife and two daughters of BBC commentator killed - BBC News

Unfortunately another incident of a woman and her family being murdered by an ex partner.

He's on the run. I won't paraphrase the details of the attack as they are horrific but he's taken out an entire family, probably because he felt a bit hard done by.

When will this violence be taken seriously and dealt with properly? They just keep coming.

If a lone female had killed her ex boyfriend, his brother and their father, the reactions would be quite different.

This is horrendous, may those three women rest in peace, what a tragedy for all who know them.

Lincoln24 · 10/07/2024 15:06

Loads of idiotic comments on that feed about how it's a "nice, quiet, leafy" area, as if domestic abuse only happens in rough council estates. Journalists and society should know by now that these men are everywhere, at every level of society.

I noticed this on BBC 2 news earlier describing the nice area thought it odd, as if "nice" areas don't have violent men in them. !

Except I can’t think of a single instance of that ever happening.

Women, and often their relatives are being murdered by current or former partners on a weekly basis.

SOxon · 10/07/2024 15:10

he tied them up first

Helpmeflashmybits · 10/07/2024 15:13

He was an ex partner of one of the victims?

MeAgainAndAgain · 10/07/2024 15:15

Why not call 999? I don’t get this bit?

"I do boast about the fact that we live close enough to Watford to walk, and close to London. And while it's really freaky and sad, we still live in a nice area."

And that is Simon, 49,'s take on it. Freaky and sad. Not fucking horrific. FFS.

Helpmeflashmybits · 10/07/2024 15:13

I think that probably goes without saying.

Can you expand on this?

They might get inundated with sightings and block up.phone lines.

Confused by this statement of the obvious

Yes, the reactions would be different because it would be a different set of circumstances with different causes and implications. Obviously.

MeAgainAndAgain · 10/07/2024 15:15

Why not call 999? I don’t get this bit?

Probably 2 reasons. Firstly there will be loads of 'sightings' of him - a large number (or most) probably false. So risk tying up 999 lines for people who need it

Also, certainly in our Force, 999 calls can't be transferred anywhere but 101 calls can. They'll want sightings to go direct to the incident room for proper evaluation and credibility checks

He's probably also not regarded as a danger to the general public

sarahc336 · 10/07/2024 15:38

Yes they keep 999 lines open for other instances, calling an ambulance etc

sarahc336 · 10/07/2024 15:39

But no doubt he'll have vexed his own life so he found dead 🙄

sarahc336 · 10/07/2024 15:39

Ended I mean

It's absolutely horrific

IDoNotIntroduceTheLog · 10/07/2024 17:23

Apparently he's been shot by the police, air ambulance is there.

FFS. I'd prefer to see him getting the shit beaten out of him and being shanked with razors in prison.

Where did you see this? Hope he's alive to face the consequences.

Suspect thought to be hiding out in a nearby cemetery acc to latest reports.

News now focussing on the murdered women being related to the racing commentator John Hunt

It doesn't actually say that anywhere in that article

Because 101 will act just as quickly while 999 is left open for other emergencies

BMW6 · 10/07/2024 18:21

Well he's obviously at least injured as the BBC news at 6 showed forensics at the cemetery.

I reckon he's killed himself or Police shot him.

Fucking men.
