Has anyone sold on Vinted before? I have taken the plunge and sold something for the first time today. I have to admit I don't quite know what I am doing.
First of all I was quite surprised that my item sold very quickly, within an hour. However as it is my first sale I am not quite sure of the etiquette. The buyer sent me a message to activate the sale, the same with Vinted, however the funds are still showing as 0 in both the pending and the activate balance display, even though the buyer has informed me that they have paid. Not sure if there is anything else I should be doing? Any help would be appreciated.

You will receive the funds once the buyer receives the goods and marks as received, or within 3 days, whichever is soonest.

BlueBlueBerries · 07/07/2024 16:57

Has the item definitely sold? Be aware if scammers who seek out new users. What was the message?

Confusionn · 07/07/2024 17:04

I was sent a QR code from the buyer. And then a completed transaction email from Vinted.

As long as its a genuine sale it will show up on the app, it'll give you the option to get the shipping label. I use Evri so tick the print in store option. That give you a qr code you use to print a label and drop off at the counter. I use the One Stop near me but Vinted will give you the nearest drop off points.

I've sold loads so I could do it blindfolded lol so I hope the above makes sense.

Elmo230885 · 07/07/2024 17:06

Cross posted.
Once you've sent it the buyer has to click everything is OK and then the money goes into your vinted account.

BuffaloCauliflower · 07/07/2024 17:07

Did the buyer send you a QR code or did Vinted send it automatically?

You have to send the item - you don’t get paid until the buyer receives the item.

Confusionn · 07/07/2024 17:11

When I go into my Vinted account the item does not look sold. And my pending balance is registered as O. Do I need to register a bank card as a first time seller for the sale to be fully completed? I don't have an address label or anything either.

Could you post a screenshot of your conversation thread with the buyer?

Buyer sent a QR code and Vinted sent a sale completed email, asking me to complete the transaction by clicking the button.

I don't know about anyone else but I've never had an email from Vinted at all, only messages within the Vinted app itself, and I've sold loads on there.

showmethegin · 07/07/2024 17:24

No that's dodgy as hell. I have quite the vinted obsession, sell and buy and have never ever had a message like that

GardenersDelight · 07/07/2024 17:24

I get emails saying messages or items sold and also can see them on the app

showmethegin · 07/07/2024 17:25

What usually happens is it will be shown in the app as sold then you will get a postage label, you use this to send the item

Cheeesus · 07/07/2024 17:25

You need to post it. Then when they’ve got it and marked it as ok then you get the money.

I get emails but never seen that before OP

IceCreamWoes · 07/07/2024 17:27

Can you screen shot the item from your listing's, we can tell you if sold.

IamOliveOil · 07/07/2024 17:28

This is a scam, something similar happened to my aunt on her first go. You should not have to do anything on email it’s all through the app. Double click on the email and check it’s a genuine Vinted email address and maybe report the seller to Vinted if they are on the app.

exexpat · 07/07/2024 17:31

Definitely a scam. If you have sold an item but not yet downloaded a postage label or sent it, you will have a message like this in the app:

Vinted
xyzandabc · 07/07/2024 17:33

Hmm, I buy and sell quite a lot on Vinted and have never seen a message look like the one you have screen shot.
Go on to the Vinted app. In your messages, the item will be in there and say sold with a message that looks like this:

If it doesn't look like this in your Vinted app then it's some kind of scam. Report to vinted and do not interact with any messages by email. All messages go through the Vinted app.

Vinted
exexpat · 07/07/2024 17:34

Don't click on anything in those emails!

Scammers must have some way of finding first-time sellers on Vinted who don't know what to expect.

AtomicBlondeRose · 07/07/2024 17:44

Dodgy! Here’s a real sold item email from Vinted

Vinted
BuffaloCauliflower · 07/07/2024 17:47

As others have said, this is weird and not what it looks like when you sell on Vinted at all. Don’t click anything and don’t send anything. Send the screenshots to Vinted customer service.

BuffaloCauliflower · 07/07/2024 17:49

If it had been bought it Vinted it would show as sold in the app and you’d have a message in there with a button to get the address label. Nothing emailed except maybe something saying you’ve sold the item. This is definitely a scam
