My kitchen is a shithole again . I Need to clean it. I have been having a word with myself but I'm not listening.

I have taken a Shame picture because it often shames me into doing it.

Also does this mess come under the normal bracket of a messy kitchen or is it beyond that

I was expecting a lot worse!

Pop a playlist on perhaps and spend a song starting to clear?

Clear out a cupboard and put the bin in that to stop the dog getting in. It will instantly make a big difference.

I already have a cupboard bin.. thats a new one for another room . I just stuck it up there because I'm a prick .

That would take me half an hour max, in no way shape or form is that a shithole kitchen! Don’t be so hard on yourself.

make yourself a tea or coffee and crack on. It will be done before you know it.

That's not even close to a shithole. That's like an hour's cleaning, tops.

You should have seen mine after last weekend. Took me about 3 hours, I wish i was joking.

Maybe split into little stages or sections and definitely with music on. I put music on Monday and ended up dancing to staying alive while cleaning it.

What are we looking at here? Some items on counters that could be put away? I can't see any marks on cabinets or tiles?

I litterly walked in the kitchen looked around and told it to fuck off firmly and walked out.

I need to fix the blind as well it's been down for months... that also reminds me I need to loose a bit of weight and stop being old . I feel it stops me doing stuff.

That’s just a regular I need to clean my kitchen (minus the things that should have gone straight in the bin or sink). 3 upbeat song and that will be sorted.

I know you've been here long enough to know that I'm genuinely being light hearted if I say "stop fucking stealth boasting" 

Like PP it literally just needs a quick tidy/clean and I think it's probably half an hour max (well 5 mins in my head to be acceptably clean and tidy ) nowhere near shithole status.

What worries me tho, it's a small pic on the app but it looks like one of your hob/cooker knobs is turned on so I'd check that.

I found kiwi splattered on the tiles. I found rotten apples. Some dried up spag bol stuck to the side. Window ledge needs all wiping down . Pile of washing in the corner

Isn't it just a case of putting stuff away washing a dish, wiping the surfaces down and brush /mopping the floor? It just looks to me a bit like a teenager has whirled through the kitchen and not put bottles etc back in the fridge!

I hate this app! My emojis disappeared and there was a winky face after my first sentence and some smiles - now it looks a bit twattish instead of genuinely lighthearted (let's see if that emoji works...)

I don't knlw what stealth boasting means. Sounds like a dig but I don't know.

And yeah I think some of it is in my head . I think it sometimes feels worse than it really is. But it still feels that way regardless . I got other stuff to do as well . I put it all together and it feels hopeless . Even though really it's not.

This is just a silly thing that helps kick my butt. I knlw it's odd but if I I find it helpful so be it.

The cooker knob thing is upside down. It's not actually on.

I wish my kitchen looked like yours. Mine is a genuine pit of shit. Possibly 20x worse.

That's when you know your getting old, having to plan/figure out how to do things you usually did without thinking about it. Am there too 😂

Sorry @Shithole101 my post was genuinely meant to be light hearted, I thought from your previous posts you were a long time MNer returned after a NC but maybe I'm getting you mixed up with someone else. I genuinely wanted to cheer you up not kick you!

Stealth boasting on MN is where people say things like "how can I decorate this tiny bedroom" and then show a massive immaculate room with a a king size bed" sort of thing, or "I only have limited disposable income after bills this month, I'm really worried" then drip feed their "limited" is £2000 - that kind of thing.

I just genuinely meant your kitchen is absolutely nowhere near "shithole" level (and you really do need to change your name btw!) It's a lovely kitchen, and to me that's a really minimal amount of "mess", I wouldn't even class it as mess, just stuff that needs to be put away or in the bin, if that makes sense? Just daily living.
