I need some inspiration please!
My husband and I eat a lot of fish but two teens are fed up with fish.
Husband doesn't eat meat.
It's all a total pain to be honest.

Might do a roast tomorrow as the weather's so crap.

Tonight, liver and bacon casserole with mash and green beans.
Tomorrow, boiled gammon with onion sauce, mash and cabbage
Monday, probably spaghetti Bolognese
Tuesday, probably ham egg and chips (ham from the boiled gammon)
Wednesday, possibly cottage pie, peas and carrots
Thursday, possibly pulled pork, Chinese pancakes, spring onions with maybe a stir fried rice and vegetables
Friday, probably fish and chips after swimming

All very ordinary, easy comfort food. I will cook the Bolognese and the mince for the cottage pie later today, DH will cook during the week as he is retired and I am still working, so we tend to have things that are slightly more complicated at the weekend when I'm cooking, and less complicated when he's cooking. The pulled pork is left over from the sugared pork we had earlier in the week and froze.

Sounds lovely!

Chicken satay / papaya salad / sticky rice
Malai kofta curry / dal thing / veg biryani
Pork gyros/ flatbreads / salad & yoghurt
Beyti kebab / roast veg bulgur
Kofte stew / fasulye (Turkish bean thing) / rice

Missed that your DH doesn't eat meat. If I had a veggie over I'd swap satay for Thai fishcakes, gyros for falafels and halloumi and make lentil kofte for the beyti and the kofte stew instead of using mince.

Do you want a list of what we've actually had, or just pescatarian/veggie options? This is what we've had this week- but there are various options with/without meat. DH and I both WFH, so some are things I made for lunch.

https://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/satay-sweet-potato-curry This curry is lovely. I've also made it with pork, chicken or prawns, but veggie is still delicious.

Chicken Fajitas, but you plonk all the options down and everyone helps themselves.

https://www.recipetineats.com/vietnamese-rice-paper-rolls-spring-rolls/ I actually prefer these vegan, but have made them with prawns, duck, teriyaki chicken in the past. Lots of youtube videos on how to roll them. My cheats satay is to shake in a jar:
About 2T crunchy peanut butter
1T soy sauce
1T sesame oil
1T sweet chilli sauce, then enough water to shake it into a honey consistency

Tonight we had beef burgers with home made coleslaw and oven chips

Satay sweet potato curry recipe | Good Food

mindutopia · 06/07/2024 19:39

Tonight and tomorrow we are having quesadillas (cheese, then cheese and refried beans) because I bought too many tortilla wraps.

Monday - vegetable soup with sourdough, literally whatever veg I find in the garden, chucked in a soup, blended, bit of creme fraiche

Tuesday/wednesday - mac and cheese, whatever veg from the garden, garlic bread

Thursday - lamb steaks, mash, broad beans probably

Friday - burgers with wedges

BouleBaker · 06/07/2024 19:41

Roast Beef
Brazilian Haddock Moqueca
pork loin and savoury rice with broccoli
Chicken on a beer can
Not sure after that.

loropianalover · 06/07/2024 19:46

I make spaghetti bolognaise pretty much every week, you can use quorn mince for your DH - not sure if Quorn is popular but I think it’s nice anyway!

Teens might like homemade pizzas, everyone can choose their own toppings.

Spicy rice with chicken, veggies, salsa, guac etc… just do the chicken separate, or do fish tacos.

Mac and cheese with veg (broccoli, green beans, corn on the cob) & you could do fish fillets and chicken fillets in the oven depending on people’s preferences.

Veggie burgers with chips

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 06/07/2024 19:46

We've had Chinese-y chicken tonight, then it's Moussaka tomorrow. Country Captain on Monday and a meatball bake on Tuesday. I'm a flaky caaaah, so I only plan a few days at a time...

PartnersInCrime · 06/07/2024 19:48

Making a big ragu, so bolognese one night, lasagne another and some for the freezer.
Out for curry one night
Home made pizza and a burger and chips night too...just realised how unhealthy that all sounds!

Mama1980 · 06/07/2024 19:52

Fish and lentil bake tonight.
Veggie Roast tomorrow
Celeriac wraps
Vegetable soup
Aubergine parmigiana
Pasta and red pepper sauce

GrannyWeatherwaxsBroomstick · 06/07/2024 19:59

Spaghetti bolognese
quesadillas with potatoes and chorizo and cheese
chicken curry
bbq steak and Caesar salad
turkey mince stir fry
aubergine parmagiana and chopped salad

Willthiswork78 · 06/07/2024 22:36

Great ideas thank you. DH is now apparently low carb too. Ffs.
