I meant the checkered scarf! Not the lacy ruffle.

TheInvisibleMann · 04/07/2024 23:35

Not liking the Reform votes so far.

I do think we shouldn’t underestimate how shit life is for many in the North at the moment.

Like Brexit, it's a howl into the void protest vote !

tobee · 04/07/2024 23:37

Anyone would think the only story of night was Reform not Labour gaining seats from Conservatives

Angry

Crikey. Through the 1st bag of popcorn already. Saving the other for 3am.

Enjoying Mad Nad saying they lost voters to reform because they gave up on brexit.

Nope its the same vote as brexit, ignore our needs at your peril.

tobee · 04/07/2024 23:38

Jaunty hat on the acting returning officer

BestIsWest · 04/07/2024 23:38

Yes so far it's been a bit disparaging of Labour landslide and acting like Reform are the victors

minou123 · 04/07/2024 23:39

Part of me is scared for the number of people voting Reform.

But, and this is a big but, this doesn't mean it will translate into seats.

Similar thing happened fur UKIP in 2919, they got over 4 million votes, but only won 1 seat - and where are they now?

tobee · 04/07/2024 23:39

Igotjelly · 04/07/2024 23:34

The Reform votes so far are frightening!

Hopefully more about the Brexity area

tobee · 04/07/2024 23:41

It feels like the European elections where ukip made a splash

tobee · 04/07/2024 23:43

What's that tell black seat on Jeremy Vines map thing? Looked Liverpool way?

Igotjelly · 04/07/2024 23:43

Let’s not forget UKIP fizzled away because Brexit happened, Reform are their love child with the BNP.

The BBC coverage is dreadful. So low energy.

It is Hoyle's seat. As speaker he doesn't stand for re-election

RishisLeavingDo · 04/07/2024 23:46

Zahawi is in denial

Sam Freedman predicted Reform would come second to Labour in 30+ seats in north and midlands.

👀

The exit poll suggests that Broxbourne - a seat with a 19,000 Tory majority, a seat that has been Tory since its creation in 1983 - is going to Labour

yes. The black seat is the speaker where the big parties don’t stand against the speaker.

I think all of them are and too much graphics/info on the screen and too much colour

Mind you it's always tricky when not much happening. It'd just all REFORM REFORM REFORM.

CassieMaddox · 04/07/2024 23:38

Yea it’s a new angle. The actual story is how much Reform are eating the Tories and how can the Tories get them back?

Igotjelly · 04/07/2024 23:48

I do find the lamenting the Reform vote on the coverage is entirely missing the point this is a historic win for Labour.
