It's not really a meal. But kids love it . So all on the same plate they have ;

Grapes , cucumber, kiwi, appricote strawberry, cheese, sliced ham , sliced chicken. Cajun chicken breast . And a wrap .

Ds said I'm the best mum he's ever had 🤣

Nice.

Often we have a 'bits and bobs' = things in the fridge that need using up. A scotch egg, a leftover portion of lasagne, a bit of quiche, some satay chicken, etc etc, cook some oven chips, add it in, you've got a meal.

Both ds's love it. All my friends now do it. And call it 'bits and bobs'.

I think mine likebreaking the wraps and making mini wraps with the food. I think they like . That it's light food as well.

Picky tea we call it. I know some people can't stand that expression!😁

Lavendersquare · 04/07/2024 18:46

That's a picnic tea here, DD loves it.

Previousreligion · 04/07/2024 18:46

This is basically the only kind of lunch my 3 year old will eat.

Dr13Hadley · 04/07/2024 18:48

My kids rather ostentatiously call it a "platter" no idea where they got it from, it wasn't me. Problem is DS2 gets muddled up and calls it a pallet. 🤷🏻‍♀️

JurassicClark · 04/07/2024 18:49

House picnic! Love those!

Dilbertian · 04/07/2024 18:49

We call it fridge raid.

Oh I thought that was things like sausage rolls, cocktail sausages. More savory bits .

My mum used to call this a jump at the pantry door dinner. Basically anything that was lurking went on the plate. Pork pie, Branston, sliced apple and crisps was a favourite too

Quornflakegirl · 04/07/2024 19:05

It’s a snack plate in this house. My dc love them and are almost 12.

DumbassHamsterSitterPerson · 04/07/2024 19:07

That's called "iffits" here. As in "if it's there you can have it..."

tsmainsqueeze · 04/07/2024 19:07

My 15 year old would love that !

TheTempest · 04/07/2024 19:07

It’s a little snack in our house and DD had one every day for about 5 years 😂

we call it fridge forage even though some bits will be from the cupboard or freezer like fish fingers or pizza

Jutemat · 04/07/2024 19:11

Whitney Ainscough special

letmeeatinpeace · 04/07/2024 19:20

Wait, does all the fruit go in the wrap along with the chicken and meat slices? Interesting. Not that dissimilar to the dinner my 3yr old requested - toast with peanut butter, grapes, and cheese..!
