It's not really a meal. But kids love it . So all on the same plate they have ;

Grapes , cucumber, kiwi, appricote strawberry, cheese, sliced ham , sliced chicken. Cajun chicken breast . And a wrap .

Ds said I'm the best mum he's ever had 🤣

Wait, does all the fruit go in the wrap along with the chicken and meat slices? Interesting. Not that dissimilar to the dinner my 3yr old requested - toast with peanut butter, grapes, and cheese..!

The wrap gos on the side and they put what they want in it . So yeah could end uo with a strawberry and ham in the same wrap.

I've never heard of appricote strawberries. They sound intriguing. Not sure I would have them in a wrap with ham and cheese though.
Although I watched a video today that involved hotdogs, strawberry laces, Hula Hoops, cheese, an egg and loads of oil all hoyed in a wrap so I suppose anything goes

That's a snack plate in our house and DDs aged 7 and 5 have it for dinner at least three times a week (basically whenever they're not eating dinner with us.) Normally some combination of bread or crackers, cheese, meat or paté, a yoghurt, fruit, vegetable sticks. Perfectly acceptable dinner in my opinion and they love it!

I call it a snack plate.

Picky bits shudder🤣

Ah this is what we call a picky tea or picky bits.

Nowt wrong with it if you ask me. Food is food and as long as they're eating it your winning.

I love random bits and pieces on a plate for dinner. The other night I had nectarines, french bread, cubes of cheddar cheese and hula hoops. I dipped the cheese and nectarines in balsamic glaze...was delicious

lightsandtunnels · 04/07/2024 20:03

We always called it a 'mek do' dinner. Whatever is in the fridge/cupboards and we'd just make do with that rather than cook or shop for anything.

Known as bitsa or a roomnic here, and pretty much what I've just eaten.

My kids rather ostentatiously call it a "platter" no idea where they got it from, it wasn't me. Problem is DS2 gets muddled up and calls it a pallet. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Haha, same here. DS used to ask for a Platter when he was younger and also got mixed up and said Palette. He's a teen now but still occasionally likes a palette as a snack!

Sounds ideal. Have similar lunch every day.
