That's it really, has your postal vote arrived in time?

Yes, 2 weeks ago. Posted it the same day

Redglitter · 03/07/2024 00:41

Arrived a couple of weeks ago posted back last week

evtheria · 03/07/2024 00:56

Mine came last week, West Suffolk

Vates · 03/07/2024 05:21

Mine arrived about two weeks ago and I posted it back last Wednesday.

DeadlyKnightshade · 03/07/2024 11:34

Yes about 10 days ago

Octocat · 03/07/2024 11:39

Yes, and I was pleased that the system was working well. I'm in NI where schools broke up on 28th June so lots of people are on holiday now.

CuttingMeOpenthenHealingMeFine · 03/07/2024 11:46

No, we are now on holiday and DH and I have not been able to vote as ours didn’t arrive it feels like a big fucking stitch up tbh.

JustPleachy · 03/07/2024 11:49

No. But I assumed that if it didn’t arrive I could just go and vote in person. Is that not the case?

ReadyTeddy1000 · 03/07/2024 11:54

I applied for postal vote at end of May.
So did my son.
So did my husband.
We all used the same link, as I shared it on family WhatsApp.
Husband received his.
Mine and my son's never arrived, AND they told us our applications were incorrect, and we must have done something wrong.
We found all this out when it was too late to do anything about it.

You can, yes. But that doesn't help anyone who is now on holiday.

PuttingDownRoots · 03/07/2024 11:57

DHs arrived a couple of weeks ago. He only applied on the last day as well...
Due to his procrastination, the completed form is currently on the kitchen counter and ill take it with me tomorrow

AquaFurball · 03/07/2024 12:00

Aren't you supposed to call your council if you haven't got it? It has been a nightmare in Scotland, 6 weeks isn't long enough.

You can take your postal vote and hand it in on the day if it arrives before or on Thursday. I’d contact your local office to tell them you haven’t received it though in case it doesn’t come.

nononononononononon · 03/07/2024 12:03

Yes, a couple of weeks ago - posted it soon after.

placemats · 03/07/2024 13:06

Mine arrived 21 June and was posted on the 23 June.

I've tried to get answers from search on the internet but can anyone tell me how I know my vote has arrived and will be counted?

I know that misplaced votes happen even if you vote in person.

I am not sure you can. I advise checking on this and I think I read that you CAN'T vote in person at a polling station if registered for a postal vote

MissScarletInTheBallroom · 03/07/2024 13:10

I received mine on Monday but since I'm an overseas voter that doesn't count as "on time". It's in the post but will probably not get there by tomorrow.

FiveFoxes · 03/07/2024 13:11

You can take a completed postal vote to a polling station.

You cannot vote in person at a polling station if you are registered for a postal vote.

FunnysInLaJardin · 03/07/2024 13:13

it arrived yesterday.

We are in Jersey so no chance at all that it will arrive by tomorrow, but posted it anyway!

BeaRF75 · 03/07/2024 13:13

Yes - by about 24th June. Completed and sent straight back. All seemed v efficient.

EllisEllisBoom · 03/07/2024 13:15

Mine finally came this morning, I've turned it round straight away, but doubt it will get there for 10pm tomorrow.

I've just received a small parcel a shoe box, sent 2nd class, from Northern Ireland, posted Monday.

It may still get there.

No, we're already on holiday so can't do anything

People keep saying this. Obviously you can, but the main reason people have postal votes is because they aren't able to vote in person on that day. I'd have a long and expensive journey.
