I'm just drinking my first cuppa of the day, in my kitchen spot, while the kittens roll around like loons in the corner.

I need to get the washer going & tidy up. Somehow the kitchen resembles a pigsty even though we were out yesterday 🤷‍♀️

We don't have much planned for the day, or at least, I don't. Dd2 wants dd1 to go into town with her for some school shoes - she usually lives in her boots regardless of weather. Dd1 won't be too happy but will go, when she gets up.

I'm going to make a pie for tea and go for the mag I wanted yesterday. That's it other than the kitchen. My dad might pop round to meet the kittens too.

Later on it'll be an everything shower for me, followed by an hour with my book before an early night 💤.

What about all of you? 🙂

Goodmorning! I've just had my first coffee, sitting in bed. I bought proper coffee yesterday and I'm just about to put croissants in the oven. I'll put washing on in a bit and then I'm collecting dcs from their Dad's at lunchtime. We'll make some scones and maybe go to the local PYO fruit place if it doesn't rain. We plan on a BBQ instead of the usual roast later, regardless of the weather! DP and I are going to look at our rotas at some point and try to find a couple of days in August to go away and will hopefully get something booked. Have a lovely Sunday all.

Crunchymum · 30/06/2024 10:10

Morning @lucysmam

Your day sounds nice and chilled.

Lazy day planned for us ahead of a manic week.

Older kids can nip to little swing park/ community gardens across the road for a bit of fresh air if they get bored.

We'll be doing the usual Sunday drudge of homework / ironing / batch cooking for the week etc. Only a few more weeks to go though!!

Not sure about dinner. We'll be watching the England game so I'll probably grab some pizzas and doughballs (Pizza Express is on offer) and do those with potato salad / coleslaw.

All in all very low key.

frozendaisy · 30/06/2024 10:24

After a fabulous wolfess day with conversation, art, wine and a booming pride parade in the background it's back to reality of chilled out laundry for school
Homework
Easy healthy food today

Boo!

Brandnewskytohangyourstarsupon · 30/06/2024 10:31

Oooh!! Exciting plans today!

I have a ham in the slow cooker with coke for dinner, mash & veg on the go later.
Ive seen my dream job advertised so I’m updating my CV, filling in the application and then fingers crossed!
Baking brownies and a lemon drizzle.
Food shop for the week.
Packing for our holidays, we leave in a week.
Quick run round with the hoover later.

Busy Sunday.

FlorencenotRatchet · 30/06/2024 10:32

Morning @lucysmam and all happy Sunday.
Missed the thread yesterday as was away.
Been to collect a couple of parcels. Quick stop in the supermarket to get a chicken for dinner which is currently in the oven. Hoping to have it ready before I go out for a games afternoon later.
Will try to catch some of the England game later.
Enjoy your day everyone.

greengreyblue · 30/06/2024 10:35

Morning, was up early and doing housework today as we enjoyed the sun yesterday. Cloudy and cooler today so DH is hoovering and I’m doing bathrooms. We will change the bed and then walk the dog over the fields. May light the bbq this afternoon and then watching the England game later, possibly at the pub.

Moier · 30/06/2024 10:38

Still on holiday. Sat on patio of villa scrolling on here.
Will be having lunch out and then a drive out.. .
Will be meeting up with another couple this evening who are on holiday here and who want to do an holiday exchange.
Their Villa is in Croatia.. never been there so hopefully will be going when we agree on date.

frozendaisy · 30/06/2024 10:38

Oh god yes need to fit in the England game

LadyMacbethssweetArabianhand · 30/06/2024 10:39

Good morning@Lucysmam and others. I've had a cup of tea and two coffees and a croissant. Lentil soup is in the slow cooker. My whole house is a riot because I have dgs2 staying overnight and every room has toys in it. He will be picked up by dd later, then I'll tidy up the mayhem and visit mum. Chicken and leek pie for dinner. Enjoy your day.

ssd · 30/06/2024 11:48

Morning everyone. Im watching tv and just had tea and toast. Not sure whats happening today. Im vaguely anxious but thats normal for me.

gingercat02 · 30/06/2024 12:00

I'm on the airport transfer bus for my holiday. We've been up since 4:30, so it's been a long day already, but we should be at the hotel in about 10 minutes, so shower, lunch, and a few 🍸🥂🥃🍹🍷

Elderflower14 · 30/06/2024 12:03

Afternoon.... I worked half six till half nine.. Then went to ds1 grave and put new flowers on. Now listening to Desert Island Discs...

StrictlyAFemaleFemale · 30/06/2024 12:04

I'm on Guide camp. The bench on the table just slid down to the ground because the girls haven't tied the square lashing properly.

HappyDane · 30/06/2024 12:16

Good afternoon @lucysmam and all! 💐

DH and I have had a leisurely start to the day. We had coffee in bed, then tea and crumpets in bed.

Now DH is doing his reading of various things and I am back downstairs; have just put the dishwasher on and in a minute I'll put the towels on to wash.

I'm having a browse on the Emma Bridgewater site as the sale is on and further reductions have been applied.

We've no firm plans for today - just a day of pottering, really. I'm going to finish tidying and cleaning the dining room which I started, quite half-heartedly, yesterday. The house is half building site atm so there's always a big pile of random stuff in any given room at any given time, which drives me mad.

I'm going to make a beef rendang for dinner. DH might cook with me if he doesn't start work on one of his many building projects.

It's grey, grim and gloomy here. And cold!

AceofPentacles · 30/06/2024 12:21

Got back from holiday yesterday so have been cleaning and washing this morning . Making a roast chicken now and then popping along to a spiritual fair later to have an astrology reading .

InglouriousBasterd · 30/06/2024 12:26

I’ve just whacked a colour on my scarily grey roots and going to have a tidy up whilst that’s cooking. I then need to actually cook (well, bake!) DD’s birthday cake!

General housework bits and footie for the rest of the day!

DaffydownClock · 30/06/2024 12:27

Good morning/afternoon @lucysmam & everyone, it’s disappointingly chilly here this morning, cloudy and dull after yesterday’s sunshine.
So far I have tidied the kitchen, weeded and replanted a big tub, brushed the patio and put the dinner on.
dh is walking the dog via the coffee waggon in the village and I have been carrying on crocheting my throw while listening to podcasts.
More of the same this afternoon.

doyoulikemyyams · 30/06/2024 12:39

Hello everyone!

@Brandnewskytohangyourstarsupon you've made me hungry!

I spent this morning cleaning the house while on the phone to a friend – we like to keep one another company while we do boring things... Topics of conversation included things overheard while under sedation for a colonoscopy, what makes some farts louder than others, and what 'should' go in bedside table drawers vs. what actually goes in them.

Took the dog for a walk, and now starting to make a stew before a friend comes over for lunch this afternoon.

I took up a new hobby this week (frame loom weaving) and am planning a lovely chilled evening playing with my new toy with some kind of crime drama on in the background...

Topsy44 · 30/06/2024 12:49

Good Afternoon All

Had a nice chilled out morning (although was woken up at 6 by my elderly cat demanding to be fed!), got a load of laundry done and had a very long call with my 86 year old Mum.

Just about to make some sarnies for lunch and then DD12 wants us to go out somewhere this afternoon(although I could quite easily stay curled up on the sofa watching a film). I’ll probably suggest a longish walk that we can do from our house and then we can pop in to Home Bargains for a few bits on our way back. I’ve done a fair bit of driving this week and don’t really want to go anywhere in the car today!!

Going to do a roast chicken for dinner as a bit cloudy and drizzly here so comfort food is needed. Then the usual ironing school uniform and early bath for DD.

NoNameisGoodEnough · 30/06/2024 12:51

Having covid and feeling fed up.

EmmaPeele · 30/06/2024 12:53

Hi everyone, I love reading about what you are all doing today. I've had an easy day so far, just about to make cheese and tomato sandwiches for lunch then heading out for a walk with dh. We are lucky enough to have beautiful countryside literally on our doorstep but walks aren't the same since we lost our beloved lab. Later on, I'll do some reading whilst dh watches the football which I hate and will do anything to avoid (daughter of an ex man united player and football ruled my childhood). Dinner will be roast chicken washed doing with some nice Rose wine but will have to wait till the flippin football is over, I'm hoping it doesn't go to extra time/penalties as I'll be starving!

mondaytosunday · 30/06/2024 13:15

Well. Where to start? I'm in Spain on holiday, and the plan was to go for a swim then the market to buy fresh bread then two and a half hours drive to collect kids (19, 20) from airport. They checked in at London were happily having breakfast waiting for their gate number. I only have WiFi at the house once I leave I'd be incommunicado. Last message from them was their gate number, my last message back was to give themselves plenty of time as it's a long walk.
I'm about to leave when get tearful call from DD - missed their flight. Not the only ones (I wonder if there was a mix up on the info board). So they debate whether to go home or what. Try another couple Spanish airports. Next flight (after paying £200) is tomorrow at 5am! I said just stay at the airport. They are upset and feel they have let me down but I have missed a couple flights myself so I am not at all cross. Just want to restrain my son from thinking he can take a trip around London and my more sensible daughter who wants to book themselves in and stay close (she said they can be like Tom Hanks in Terminal).
Then no sooner had I hung up with her my house sitters called to say they forgot the keys! This after they mistakenly ordered a food delivery yesterday to the wrong address. Lucky I had a spare buried in a flower pot. So I feel I've been putting out fires all morning. I did have a nice relaxing swim before all this happened though!
Now waiting for my sister and her DD to get ready so we can go get some lunch (we have missed the shops). I'm ordering an alcoholic drink no question!

TimeForRishiByeByes · 30/06/2024 13:16

I'm feeling really poorly today so basically letting my daughter crack on with trashing the living room with all of her toys counting down to 5pm for an early bedtime for her.
Need to try and recover as much as I can and hopefully be better for work tomorrow.

Simonjt · 30/06/2024 13:39

Good afternoon all, we went swimming this morning followed by a trip to a farm park. This afternoon we’re doing nothing, our sons playing with lego, our daughters rolling around in said lego and chucking it about, so we’re taking it in turns to watch her and do our own thing.

CalicoPusscat · 30/06/2024 13:44

Afternoon, after a very patchy night's sleep so far I've only showered, eaten and done a wash.

Going to a bank of shops approx 10 minutes walk away shortly for a browse, then the supermarket, then for the rest of today I must get out a large storage box and put things from the front room into it, so I can vacuum.

I'm not setting myself any herculean tasks for today, fairy light ones will do :)
