I've just put the kettle on for a cup of coffee to drink in my kitchen spot. I've been playing with the kittens for the past half hour while I drank my brew. They're currently galloping about causing chaos & trying to eat my handbag 🙄

The washer's on with what looks to be today's only wash load - we'll see! There's pots from last night to wash, and the living room needs a tidy round so we'll do that before we head out.

Me and dd2 are off to the local (man made) lake for a wander. We'll probably have a mooch in the shops, and the plan is to call into the pizza restaurant late afternoon, before we head home.

Dd1's working the local races so can't join us this time 😥

I fancy a completely pointless magazine to flip through later on so we'll nip in the shop for that and a bottle of wine later, on the way home.

What about all of you? 🙂

Enjoy the kittens.

Just got back from Borneo with DD late last night so still catching up on sleep etc. DH has just gone to bakers to get me a Bakewell tart. Reuniting with the lovely Floof who is very happy all his people are back. Load of washing. DD goes off on holiday on 4th with boyfriend.

ShowOfHands · 29/06/2024 09:31

I've done two loads of laundry and they're on the line, been to the supermarket and bought food for a picnic and ds and I are going with his best friend and mum (also my friend) to look for fossils on the beach. Then picnic, ice cream, a walk and we've planned a film night (Lord of the Rings seems to be the consensus).

LadyMacbethssweetArabianhand · 29/06/2024 09:36

Good morning @Lucysmam and others. That sounds like a very pleasant day. Penguinsa Borneo! Wow! Was it to visit the orangutan sanctuaries?
I have dried towels in the tumble dryer for DD. Then showered and went to Aldi for a few bits and pieces which Tesco don't do. I'm shortly heading out for breakfast with a friend. Then dgs2 is coming for a sleepover. He's very excited because he's never been overnight on his own. He's two and a half. Usually his big brother is here too. Grandma is excited too. All of the items got from Aldi were for the boys except bin bags🙄 Enjoy your day all.

Morning! I woke up this morning feeling absolutely shattered and oddly hungover despite only two glasses of wine last night. I’ll chuck myself in the shower in a minute and eat something and that should sort me out. I really need to crack on with the housework so should get off my phone really. I’ve had a very busy week at work so I’m excited to not be glued to my desk today but it could be why I’m feeling so lazy and sleepy now.

It’s DS birthday this weekend so he has some friends coming over today to do some gaming and eat pizza/sweets/cake. The weather is good so we will either go to the beach or maybe do a bbq later. Then this evening we’ll watch Glastonbury on the TV.

Thislittlekitten · 29/06/2024 09:39

Morning. I’m enjoying breakfast in the sun.

Schools have finished up here (NE Scotland) and although I will be working it feels like the pressure is off a bit. The kids really need the break.

Working today then will pick up DS from parents. Can’t think what to have for tea tonight and possibly a film later.

Fontainebleau007 · 29/06/2024 09:41

Morning!
DH has taken the kids for a haircut whilst I'm tidying and packing. We're flying back to England on Monday to surprise my family. (Most have never met my youngest) we currently reside in NI where my DH is from.
Probably will go shopping at some point today, get something nice for dinner. Weather is quite drizzly and blah today.
Have a lovely day everyone.

TrumpetOfTheMatriarchy · 29/06/2024 09:41

Been awake since 7 but still not dressed. Have managed breakfast and a coffee in bed and have been eBay listing. Kids are on various screens. Not many plans today. Get the uniforms washed, maybe power hose the front of the house and I really want to find a pick your own for some strawberries. At least it is sunny today.

amiahoarder · 29/06/2024 09:43

It's raining all day here. Had lie in . Tidying, cleaning, meal plan , shopping. Taking 2 bin bags to charity shop (see username) . Nothing exciting but it will be nice when all tidy.

amiahoarder · 29/06/2024 09:44

Oh yes! Forgot Glasto. Will try and watch a bit too although it just makes me envious I've never been /probably will never go.

swayingpalmtree · 29/06/2024 09:45

Just been for a run with the dog, then going food shopping. Will do as much laundry as possible as weather is warm. Then this afternoon we are watching a film and relaxing. Cooking lambs liver for the dog later (spoilt girl) and we are having pizza. This evening may also watch Glastonbury on tv- soooo much better than camping 😃

DaffydownClock · 29/06/2024 09:48

Good morning @lucysmam and followers, it’s a lovely sunny morning here. DDog and I went out early for a walk, met several friends with their dogs on our way round. The washing is on the line, I have little to do today apart from pootling in the garden, I need to pick the strawberries and raspberries for pudding later.
I’d like to sit in the sun with my book later but I must do some weeding first.
The garden is looking pretty good even if I do say so myself 😊

OldTinHat · 29/06/2024 09:49

I'm suffering after a glass of wine too many last night. Bleurgh. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the builder shows up today. I'll be annoyed if he doesn't - I could have stayed in bed longer!

Another beautiful, sunny day here so I'll probably laze in my garden.

Have a great Saturday, all!

biscuitsnow · 29/06/2024 09:49

I want to wear my new linen trousers - finally found some that dont make me look like MC Hammer 😆

frozendaisy · 29/06/2024 09:52

Off for a sunny day out of culture, wine, no males (much as I love them).

Peridot1 · 29/06/2024 09:54

Hi @lucysmam and everyone.

Ive had my usual slow start. Have had a couple of cups of tea and some toast. Did my puzzles. About to go for a quick shower. And then need to head to the supermarket for a few things.

DS who is 22 had a friend here overnight. They went to bed around 3 I think so not expecting to see them for a bit. DH has promised them a cooked breakfast when they finally appear.

Thinking of tackling some of the ironing later. The pile appears to be breeding!

Chicken gyros and lamb chops on the bbq for dinner.

Justonedayatatime11 · 29/06/2024 09:55

Morning @lucysmam!

Up at silly o clock to drop dd at the yard, she finally got her new pony yesterday so I expect I shall now only see her when she needs feeding or money for something!

I've really pushed myself this week and am hoping to get all housework and jobs done today so I can have a totally lazy day tomorrow. That being said I'm currently sat with a coffee and the kittens (who are 1 in 3 weeks, I can't justify calling them kittens anymore!) so I should move my bum.

Going to pick up some GF cupcakes and find something for tea, no idea what. Watch dd ride. Collapse into bed with chocolate and rubbish tv!

blackandwhitestripes · 29/06/2024 09:55

Sat in the garden drinking my 2nd coffee, my eldest is at work, youngest fast asleep and has his girlfriend coming over later today.

I think I'll do a wash and head out for a drive, and maybe see if any friends are free later for a pub local garden catch up, oh and I'll try and fit in at least 30minutes gym session.

I also have to walk all the dogs but given the heat I'll be doing that at 9pm.

Dontcallmescarface · 29/06/2024 09:59

Good morning. We're dog sitter for FiL this weekend (FiL, who is 80 btw, is at Glastonbury as a volunteer). The dog decided to wake us up at 4.30 as, apparently, that is the only acceptable time for a walk. He is now snoozing in "his" chair whilst me and DP are slugging coffee to stay awake for the friends we've got coming over this afternoon. It's going to be a loooooong day.

mrswhiplington · 29/06/2024 10:07

Will be going to the library soon to drop my book off. Then this afternoon we are going to a neighbour's BBQ. It's raining at the moment so hoping it stops soon.😕 At least I won't have to cook any tea tonight!

RabbitsRock · 29/06/2024 10:12

Morning @lucysmam & everyone. Not long got up. Keep having weird dreams as I’m on antidepressants. About to make a cuppa & am watching 2 of our bunnies through the French windows in the kitchen. They’re very skilled at looking extra cute when they want food! DH probably gave them some kale when he let them out so I’ll see if we’ve got any carrot. DH has just finished work & has phoned to say he’s popping to B & Q for some tools. DD15 has her GF staying. Not sure what we’re doing yet. It’s dry here but cloudy. Dishwasher needs unloading/ loading & I’ll check if there are enough dirty clothes to do a load. I need to pop into town then to Asda for work summer shoes & oven chips (we’ve recently discovered some pub style ones which are really nice) also Tescos for an extra long charger. DD15 has snaffled mine & it’s the quickest I’ve had. The new one will remain locked away when not in use! Defrosted duck legs in port & plum sauce which DH & I will have for tea with egg fried rice. DD will sort herself out. Watching the England game although no idea what time kick off is or who they’re playing 🤣

dudsville · 29/06/2024 10:14

I'm just about to get out of bed. I've been drinking coffee and online shopping with my favourite/only brand's online sale. Going to have breakfast and head to the gym, but I'm not on a schedule. The whole weekend's free so I'm going to do a mix of lazy tv, reading (currently on an Agatha Christie!), hopefully some house cleaning. Bliss!

Penguinsa · 29/06/2024 10:18

Thanks LadyMacbethssweetArabianhand We were in the jungle by the Kinabantagan river and did river trips and saw orangutan, pygmy elephants, crocodiles, proboscis monkeys, lots of other monkeys and birds and Sepilok for the orangutan and sun bear sanctuaries and RDC. Wonderful place.

Fudgetheparrot · 29/06/2024 10:23

Me and DD are full of cold so mostly lying on the sofa today. DS has a bit of a cough too but seems happy enough playing on the floor next to us. DH is working tonight so will bung something easy in the over for us- am thinking sausages chips and beans
