Has anyone watched this on Netflix?

It's about the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders.

There's so much wrong with it I don't even know where to start. They get paid virtually nothing but are required to completely commit (because the role is a privilege), are held to unrealistic beauty and weight standards, ruin their hips and feet by the time they are in their early twenties, the list goes on.

It shows how backwards the USA are as a country in terms of their treatment of women that they think this is OK.

I seem to remember Kelly taking issue with AK's jawline at one of the photoshoots in S1?

Kelli was commenting on the jaw for Anna Kate I think. It seemed a bit harsh but the photos are for marketing so whilst I think they should watch their words, not entirely unreasonable to be considering angles.

I also remember Kelli commenting that AK was a bit stiff in front of the camera at that photo shoot but I think that was understandable on AKs part although obviously they needed her to look as happy as possible... it was more that Kelli sounded snide as she said it. K&J have got a lot "nicer" this series but still drop some stingers. I wonder if they've been watching back and are now more careful. They also have some conversations that will simply never be easy. Cutting people, pulling up social media issues, leadership issues etc.

I also agree that Savanna was better pre strawberry blond-ing! Maybe Kevin the wonder stylist should've just done highlights? She's in training camp again atm and I'm curious to see whether she kept it or went back to her original shade. Kevin does do at least 1 red head per seaon of AS, as he says. He dyes Becca a darkish red in S1 (she got cut) and gave Abby a coppery red glow in S2!

I actually hope not! I found that v awkward with the rest of the show and also thought Kelli didn't seem comfortable. I noticed CT sponsored the flooring for the audition though and I know the girls have an order system thing with CT as one of their perks / DC brand deals. Maybe this is the pay off.

Then again Kelli also struggled with Faith's Kiwi and Aussie vibes CTand I think on an earlier season someone from the mid west commented that they struggled with the yes ma'am thing but that DCC and the Southern manners expect it... so maybe Kelli is just very deep in that and finds other manners of conduct jarring? CT maybe was too much?

I'm just watching her now and cringeing, she's dreadful.

This is my guilty pleasure too. I was addicted to making the team. I know it's not everyones cup of tea but I totally get it.

Cheerleading is massive in America and the pinnacle of this is to cheer for the Dallas Cowboys.
Yes Kelly and Judy are brutal in their critique but thats the life of a dancer the world over.

And yes you can say it's outdated i.e. you have to have the 'look of the DCC' but theres loads of jobs where you have to have a 'look' and it doesn't offend me.

I am in total admiration of their athletism those ladies are awesome.
I would love to go to Dallas to see a game. The kick line OMG wow!

Assuming Kylie isn't featured in the episodes I've not seen yet, I'm surprised she doesn't get featured as she seems popular online, based on reels that pop up for me.

Wonder how much Charlotte Tilbury paid to effectively shoehorn a 5-minute advertisement for her products into the show. I was embarrassed for her, she comes across as so fake.

I know of her brand but had never seen or heard her before. Just awful, so fake and OTT.

Kylie's very popular online from what I see, too, but doesn't feature much in AS! She's made it back to training camp so assuming all goes well maybe she'll get a leadership role and be featured more if there's another season (they apparently are filming). She's a fifth year now and I think there are only 3 of them this upcoming year so I'd expect at least a little spotlight on them.

That would be an interesting angle for a new season as all the 25-26 GLs retired, as did Kleine, one of the assistant GLs and another assistant GL - and the anticipated HBIC to boot- got cut at finals (controversial). So they only have 2 returning dcc with any leadership experience; two assistant GLs.

I've also seen a picture of Savanna doing a boot try on and it looks like she went back to her original blonde again. Wonder if Kevin will re-dye her!

Hopefully Netflix see how badly the CT thing fared and might downplay it if it they do it again. I suspect the sponsorship/contract for their product deal might include it.

It occurred to me the Savannah bad makeover could have been requested by Netflix to make a storyline!

Kelli and Judy are just such nasty bullies; in episode 3 Kelli barked at Faith ‘Don’t say Yes Ma’am until I’ve finished talking’. I bet they don’t speak rudely to others in the judges panel for example. They just speak badly to the girls because they think they are beneath them.

The hair guy does that to someone every year, it looked dreadful on Savannah

It would be good if an ex dcc wrote a warts and all book about their time in the DCC. They probably have to sign a non disclosure agreement though to "protect the brand."

I like how Charlotte buggers off when it's time to tell the dcc they have been cut but likes telling the ones who've made it. Her daughter does even less. Just sits there

I love this show. Cannot believe Dayton came back yet again - I feel like her mum was the one who really wanted it though
