Thank you. Could you just name some protein foods ? I think chicken and fish? But I know there must be more . Easy stuff would be even better because I have alot of things/stresses going on.

Turkey is the best protein, or lean steak. Chicken and fish also good. If you make them with a sweet n sour source or sweet chili sauce (small serving) and a huge serving of cooked veg you can eat a LOT and it'd be good for you. Just mentioning it as you said simple recommendations would help!

Also drink loads of water, make sure you get roughage (fiber) else you'll be hungry, sugar makes you want sugar so avoid where you can, take vitamins and minerals so you're not craving anything your missing.

One problem might be high yeast levels which can increase sugar cravings because yeast feeds on sugar (gross I know) so the healthier you get the less that is likely to be a risk.

You don’t happen to be a Labrador in disguise by any chance?

Belis · 22/06/2024 16:26

There's no point denying yourself, if you're going to eat you're going to eat. Sugar is addictive and messes with your blood sugar causing cravings, too.

Make it a proper meal next time you have the urge to eat. Even if it's only in half hours time. Protein, carbs, include vegetables, no sugar. A proper meal will stop you eating for at least a few hours.

If you're still craving crap after the meal even though you're full, eat a teaspoon of honey very slowly. It doesn't spike your blood sugar the same way as actual sugar does but it gives you that sweetness you crave and contains far less calories in one teaspoon of honey than the ice cream or packet of sweets you'd otherwise wolf down.

You can wean yourself off sugar. Start by only snacking on fruit or vegetables between meals, not sweets or other junk food. Half the time you'll realise you don't actually want anything if you can't have the crap junk food you're addicted to. Reduce the amount of sugar in your tea or coffee. Don't have crap in the house if you can help it. Set up distraction activities to keep your mind busy and your hands occupied between meals. Don't go overlong between meals meaning your blood sugar drops too far and you start craving crap as a quick fix to boost it.

best just not to buy it in the first place. It’s not good for anyone and can set children up with bad habits too. Focus on whole foods, not out of packets, lots of water. Food doesn’t help with stress and these foods are making you feel worse / the stress harder to deal with.

Itsmeamandaberry · 22/06/2024 16:54

Left over chicken fried rice and curry sauce
A bottle of Taittinger

Then at movie night

TikTok inspired "candy" salad
Doritos with salsa
Couple of vodkas

I am due on and could not give a fuck 😂😂😂

Pretty sure she has dyslexia. Perhaps you should be ashamed of your dickish behaviour on the internet?

An icecream on a stick with spinkles all over it.

Food of the gods! You'd probably have been better off having a sandwich though.

Yes, but there is no point in dying sooner than you need to.

Pennyplant19 · 22/06/2024 17:29

Is it wrong that I'd forgotten about Nobbly Bobblys and now I want one (or 5)?

StormingNorman · 22/06/2024 17:30

Grapes are yum and healthy but a lot of sugar to start the day. It will set you up for a blood sugar rollercoaster (which it sounds like you’ve been on).

A proper breakfast with some protein would help. I do a protein Yop which is good for a sweet tooth: 100g Greek yoghurt, scoop of vanilla protein, lots of frozen berries and some water to loosen to a drinkable consistency. Blitz it and put it through a drive to get the pips out.

Alternatively, porridge is slow-release carbs so you don’t get a sugar spike and feel fuller for longer. A dollop of Nutella on top is good too! Not so healthy but at least it’s balanced.

Since 12pm (I don’t eat before then) I have consumed three slices of a Serrano ham, a packet of Pom Bears, a protein bar and about 1,425 strawberries during and after our fruit picking trip.

Not going to help address the weight loss stall.

Oooh naice ham though! 😂 honestly not sure what's wrong with your food so far 😬 sounds fine really!

OP same at the moment! I know how to change it but ooohh I just want to eat crap! I just don't buy it though, then it's not there and I end up eating tonnes of pea pods and butter beans and other random things that should be meal components, just to be chewing on something.. that's bad I know!

I can't do the just don't buy. I would just end up going to the shop and paying co op prices

I know what you mean. The temptation feels so strong. Are there any 'safe' foods that help? I found these lollies that were made of strawberry puree and apple juice, they felt like snacking on sugar but so much less damaging.

I thought I was doing that with the grapes. But then I still continued to eat shit anyway

Yeah grapes just don't cut it do they! Essentially until you want to do it enough you won't stop. Not having it in the house will help, I know you might sometimes still end up paying co op prices but it'll slow you down. Find some more substantial things that aren't so bad, sweet potato wedges, brown pasta pesto ready made in the fridge, things like that?

I just had a brief look. But will look properly later . It says about eating until you feel over full. I don't do that .

I don't eat in secret either

My actual meals are not big either.

But i do eat crap
