Has anyone purchased blinds from Blinds2Go?

Hello,

So I'm thinking of ordering blinds from Blinds2Go and was wondering if the wooden/venetian blinds are easy to install?

Would you recommend Blinds2Go?

Thanks :)

Yeah we got venetians from them for all over our last house - they were great

Instructions for measuring were good, they arrived the exact size

Much cheaper than getting someone in

Whatevershallidowithmylife · 17/06/2024 11:52

Yes, blinds2go, blinds247, all good!

QforCucumber · 17/06/2024 11:53

yup, follow their instructions for measuring. One arrived in the wrong colour - phoned them, sent a photo via email while on the phone, they apologised, sent the correct one and told me to keep the wrong one too as they had no use for it. Customer service was great.

Yes I ordered from blinds to go.

They are pretty easy to fit, although sometimes getting the clips in between the rubber seal and the glass is hard work, especially if the seal has been there a long time. I used a very thin piece of flexible steel to prise the rubber away from the glass.

The other problem I had was they tied up the cord strings so tight that it was impossible to undo them and I ended up wrecking the blind. They sent me two new lots to replace before they figured out tying the knots up incredibly tight was stupid. The last lot I got did not have this problem.

Thank you. Do you think someone who's not that DIY savvy can install them? @SuncreamAndIceCream @Whatevershallidowithmylife ? Do you need a drill to install them?

I got venetians which are long and the stick which adjusts them keeps falling off.

GasPanic · 17/06/2024 11:56

You don't need a drill and they are simple to do, provided you measure up properly and have a way of getting the clips in if the seal is not compliant.

I did one small window first to test out the process before doing a lot more.

Whatevershallidowithmylife · 17/06/2024 11:57

Depends what the fittings are. You can get no drill blinds which look like normal blinds or you can get the ones that fit into the window.

Kitkat1523 · 17/06/2024 11:57

We got Roman blinds …..but tricky fitting but managed and look good

GasPanic · 17/06/2024 11:57

Also they nearly always do a 10% off around bank holidays and stuff.

user666555 · 17/06/2024 11:59

Sorry what clips and seal? So I need to have clips and a seal beforehand? I'm very amateur when it comes to blinds so I'm confused

We’ve used them in two houses and our DCs have used them. They’re brilliant.
We have two sets of Venetians on very large windows, they’re over 10 years old and still perfect.
If you’re wanting a large blind, go for the faux wood, it’s much lighter than real wood and easier to open and close.

GasPanic · 17/06/2024 12:00

The seal is already on your windows (the black rubber normally between the frame and the glass). The clips come with the blinds to hold the frames in place.

There are videos on youtube to watch.

SuncreamAndIceCream · 17/06/2024 12:02

If you want venetian you'll need a drill

If you want perfect fit blinds you won't (those are the ones mentioned above which clip to the window frame)

PhilosophicalCheeseSandwich · 17/06/2024 12:16

We've had a few Perfect Fit blinds from them. Good measuring instructions, good service (put things right very quickly when they made a mistake) and v easy to fit.

This refers to “perfect fit” blinds which fit to the window itself. I think you’re referring to the kind of Venetian blinds which just for into the window recess. Yes you generally need a drill, but it’s dead easy

Tbskejue · 17/06/2024 12:21

We got these and paid a handyman to fit them for £100 for a day; still £500 cheaper overall than Hilary’s blinds. 5 years later and they’re still great

Bluebuddha10 · 17/06/2024 12:24

I brought a roman blind from them a few years ago. The actual blind is lovely, really well made. But the fittings to put it up are really poorly designed, and poor quality. They broke, asked for more, broke again. They didnt respond to emails, they just wanted to send more of same fittings, but they kept breaking. I found some videos on YouTube of people having same problems, and how one guy had to make his own fittings. I ended up having to fix my blind up with hard as nails stuff 😆 but it seems to work. But really for the money paid, it's not acceptable - I should have made more fuss. But the wooden/venetian blinds might be different/better.

Toddlerteaplease · 17/06/2024 12:24

I've got roller blinds from them. Very happy.

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 17/06/2024 12:25

Yes, have ordered many times and they're excellent.

LightSpeeds · 17/06/2024 12:26

Yes, I've had my last few blinds from Blinds2Go. No issues with ordering or delivery. Lovely blinds, easy to install. I would recommend them.

MabelMaybe · 17/06/2024 12:26

We've recently got some. You have to download the instructions from a link, rather than having a paper copy in the box. Our blinds came with swing brackets. Look up how to use them before the blind arrives. It'd save you the hassle we had on Saturday afternoon trying to work out where the swinging bit stops in relation to the top of the blind. Good blind though.

If you order ones with your own measurements, measure twice, and add more length to the blind than you think you need.

Ineedanewsofa · 17/06/2024 12:27

Yup, easy to deal with, good customer service. I’ve only had blinds for velux windows but they are as good as the velux ones (and half the price!)

Devilsmommy · 17/06/2024 12:29

I ordered a roller blind from them and it was easy peasy to install. Just make sure you measure it how they instruct you to on the website. Really good quality aswel

motherofawhirlwind · 17/06/2024 12:31

They're fab! Have got roller, roman and venetians from them. All good quality and easy to fit.
