It's in a book my dad has and we're trying to figure out if it's an author signature.

Thank you!

Not a clue! Are you going to tell us the author name or did you not want to influence us?

JanglyBeads · 16/06/2024 18:58

But from its confident and singular placement on the page I'd have said author, yes

Very hard!!!

I'll kick us off with Dylan Charter

RadioBamboo · 16/06/2024 18:59

Is it definitely English? The surname looks like it could end in "ier", in other words French, which is going to make it much harder (for me anyway).

FoxEaredBat · 16/06/2024 19:00

I'm going with Jolyon Charles....

thenightsky · 16/06/2024 19:00

Julian Charles?

PenelopeBridgerton · 16/06/2024 19:00

Who wrote the book?

StopInhalingRevels · 16/06/2024 19:01

Leyllan Charler

Which I know isn't a name. But that's what I see.

thenightsky · 16/06/2024 19:01

Oh... maybe Julian Bearden

Jayinthetub · 16/06/2024 19:01

Lilian/Julian Charles?

Comedycook · 16/06/2024 19:02

I read the first name as Julian

BeachRide · 16/06/2024 19:02

I got Raphael for the first name.

Just looked at it again and realised how very impossible it is, unless it's joylion... which is unlikely 😁 but not impossible... I taught a kid called loyyd once, so we don't all have names with the letters you'd expect...!

RadioBamboo · 16/06/2024 19:05

First name clearly has a "descender" in the middle of it, which rules out Julian and Lillian. (But then an "ascender" right next to it - I'm guessing "gh" in the middle).

Funkyfizz · 16/06/2024 19:05

Looks like Julian Charles to me.

Petrine · 16/06/2024 19:06

Lylian Charles

OhMoreDrama · 16/06/2024 19:10

Gerald Reitlinger wrote the book, with a foreword by Martian Gilbert.

Gylian Charler ??

Uberbeeboo · 16/06/2024 19:11

Lilian Garcia?

Could they both have been onto the third bottle?

TheBlueQuail · 16/06/2024 19:12

Enid Blyton

ZiriForGood · 16/06/2024 19:13

Could it be signature of the person who gifted the book? Like a teacher or someone..

Don't give anyone on the Baby Names thread any ideas!

TressiliansStone · 16/06/2024 19:18

I'd have said 2nd name begins Robert–.
