Anyone been back to Frankie & Benny's since 2020?

I've only heard recently it was taken over by The Big Table (who own Cafe Rouge) and that it launched some kind of menu which was remiscent of that from 2003 last year.

Any thought about F&B in general?

It was shite.
Our local 2 closed down, closest recently became a drive through Burger king

I miss F & B in our town. It’s been a few things since & is now a family run American style diner but I wasn’t impressed when I went there recently.

I went to one in an airport about 10 years ago. It was shit.

Ours is now a Tim Hortons.

No, I think there is one in Reading, but it's in a big industry estate type thing.

I think I've only been a couple of times in my life and both were many years ago, both for breakfast and both when in another city for a concert or visiting family etc. I'm not a fan of them tbh

My teen boys enjoy it. We went last week. The food was fine. Hot. Standard F&B fare.

Our local one turned into Tony Macaroni. It was shut for a couple of years before it reopened as the new place.

Our closest one shut down and was used as a squat by some homeless people for a while. The food was awful, I've not been to one since the early 2000s, I'm surprised they still exist

We ate at the nearest one to us once when it first opened around 15 years ago. It was poor. It didn't last long, was empty for ages and is now a family run diner type place.

We used to love going there.... always had special offers so could feed my growing children quite cheaply. Haven't been for a long time as the price has risen too much

Last time I went was probably around 4 years ago….. the food prices seemed to have gone up, but what we got seemed poor quality. Kids were happy as they were given some free slime . Our local one has been closed a few years now

My local one became a Five Guys. I can't remember if that was before or after the pandemic, but it's a while ago now certainly.
I went there quite a few times over the years, but the last couple of times I felt like it wasn't as good.

There's still one operational on the other side of town, but I can't recall ever going to it.

Last time I went was about eight years ago - the chicken was pink and they argued with me about having it replaced

Yes, we were the only table in the whole place! Near Christmas. The supervisor very helpfully told us if you’re allergic to tomato’s don’t order anything with tomato’s in then. 10/10

To add - they asked allergies and we told him 😂
We weren’t trying to order anything unsuitable.

I’m sure I went once in 2021, an act of desperation. That visit was hilarious, they didn’t even hide the fact they had whacked it in a microwave, as it took no more than 5 mins from ordering to on the table. It was rubbish too, left most of it and left before any dessert 😂

I never remembered it being that good...also does anyone remember the birthday song?!! I remember inhaling helium out of their balloons!

They're an American–Italian diner style thing.

I've only been there for a work's meal, would never have chosen it. It was shockingly bad, microwaved food at massively inflated prices. No idea what it's like now.
I don't find TGI Friday's much better either, and that was unfortunately quite the work favourite.

Actually, what are the differences between TGI Fridays & Frankie & Bennys?

They do a lovely breakfast but we don't bother any other time of the day
