If you’re going to Taylor Swift in London….

What’s your plan? Are you staying overnight? If so what area? What sort of transport will you be using? It’s such a long show, will all the tubes still be running when it finishes? I was looking at staying somewhere near the end of the metropolitan line but am a little nervous at how reliable that line is?

Im not usually nervous about London but I’ll likely be coming on my own and I always find it reassuring to hear what others are doing.

Thank you!!

I don’t think it finishes that late does it? I would suggest you park in Pinner station or car park in Rickmansworth and take the met line back. It will be heaving I reckon so nothing to worry about.

saltysquid · 15/06/2024 18:06

You could also park in Northwood station car park. Personally I would choose the pinner station car park.

Tacocatgoatcheesepizza · 15/06/2024 18:13

I’ve seen people saying she doesn’t come on until after 8, show is 3.5 hours then it will probably take an hour to get out and back to a tube station!! That’s what’s worrying me.

Is there not a curfew of 11.00pm at Wembley? She was on at roughly 7.15 all 3 nights at Edinburgh and finished around 10.30. Getting out the stadium was a nightmare all 3 nights but there was loads of extra trams and trains running.

Holymotherforkingshirtballs · 15/06/2024 18:30

My son was at Anfield last night and it finished just before 11. Hopefully if it's similar timing you will be ok.

Bonjovispjs · 15/06/2024 18:41

Don't worry, they always lay extra tubes on during events at Wembley stadium, they're pretty good at clearing the crowds quickly and efficiently in my experience (been to loads of concerts there) You should be able to get to your accommodation just fine. Also if by chance you end up staying somewhere on the jubilee line, it runs all night at weekends (although you might have weekday tickets?)

Oh I see. She starts earlier on other days. Last train should be around midnight so think you should be fine with the tube if she finishes by 11.15.
Station car parks are out then if you don’t get back to them by midnight.
The hotels in Wembley are prob really expensive.

LostGhost · 15/06/2024 19:41

We're getting the coach there and back. We're due back home around 2am

FlimFlambros · 15/06/2024 21:07

Driving and parking at the stadium (already pre-paid) was expensive but worth it. I have anxious swifties with me who would not cope well in the crush to the tube. I would rather sit the in car and slowly leave then have to hold on to 2 people at once.

Stompythedinosaur · 15/06/2024 21:08

I got two tickets a couple of days ago. Think probably dp will take dd1 (who's the big fan) and I'll stay home with dd2 and ddog. They are staying overnight at a probably not great apartment I booked on booking.com that's about a twenty minutes walk from the stadium, as I thought that would be better than getting on the busy tube.

Tacocatgoatcheesepizza · 15/06/2024 21:24

Where did you get your tickets from @Stompythedinosaur ?

Im making plans but don’t actually have tickets yet 😁Just trying to be optimistic.

poorbuthappy · 15/06/2024 21:26

It's a bunch of fight to get out but just go with the flow to the tube. They lay on extra tubes and they know the timings so they won't shut the stations with 50k people trying to get home.
If you are tubing make sure you know which line to get on so you can get in the right queue.

Stompythedinosaur · 15/06/2024 21:28

I got them on StubHub. I know it isn't without risk, but it's worked out fine for us, the tickets were transferred via the Ticketmaster app within a few hours. I figured the worst case scenario was the tickets didn't arrive and I'd have to reclaim by money via StubHub.

TeenLifeMum · 15/06/2024 21:30

We’re staying near Westminster. I’m slightly regretting not booking a hotel within walking distance but it’s a hotel I’ve wanted to stay at for ages and near the area we’ll walk around the next day.

The crowd management is usually pretty good, although I’m taking my three daughters and the 4 ticket rule means I couldn’t bring dh along. That’s making me a bit nervous but I’m ignoring that. I love London and I’m not usually an anxious person.

HoHoHoliday · 15/06/2024 21:43

Wembley stadium as a venue has a curfew of 11pm so you won't be any later than that. Allow 20-30 minutes to get on the tube. There is great crowd control there that keeps people moving in an orderly but timely way.
That allows time to catch the tube, but if you will worry about it arrange to stay somewhere along the jubilee line as that one runs latest from Wembley.

I'm looking at doing this for August, only coming from Southampton to Wembley so only a couple of hours. It's £40 to book which I think is quite reasonable. Have you parked there before, is it quite straightforward?

CornishTiger · 15/06/2024 22:01

I saw a concert at Wembley a few years ago. Event management was good. They closed all the side gates /steps as you approached the tube station so the roads weren’t overwhelmed with pedestrians.

We were staying at Premier Inn by tube. We ended up in the crowd for the tube to get their but the atmosphere was good with stewards encouraging songs and singing amongst fans to keep up mood.

I sat outside having a drink on benches at Premier Inn and the tube queue seemed to move quickly.

Ladyandherspaniel · 15/06/2024 22:09

When we went to Wembley for Coldplay in 2022 the exit was the quickest and smoothest I've ever experienced after a concert. The tubes were still running and they were just there and waiting and off. It honestly blew my mind how well managed it all was. Yet last year at villa park after pink was chaos. Same with Ed Sheeran in Cardiff.
We stayed at a little pub 4 stops along on the tube and we were back in no time at all.

Plan it all out before you go.

knackeredmu · 15/06/2024 22:38

For those of you parking at Wembley - it's taken us over 2/3 hours to leave the car park before

And the route out took us
Into the congestion zone which we didn't notice in queuing traffic - was quite an expensive error

CornishTiger · 15/06/2024 22:58

@Ladyandherspaniel Villa Park was shocking last year. It’s because they allowed outside organisers in and it just didn’t work. Going end of month for Foo Fighters and not looking forward to getting back at all!

CaptainCarrotsBigSword · 15/06/2024 23:18

I was at night 2 Edinburgh, the video I have of the fireworks at the end is time stamped 10.33!

She came on to the stage earlier than I expected, about 7.15 I think. None of the UK concerts seem to be going on late.

We got out of the stadium incredibly quickly as well, it was all really smooth.

Unexpectedbaby · 15/06/2024 23:22

I booked my Wembley parking a couple of days after getting g my tickets last year. Think it was £40. It's just me and 7yr old DD and I didn't want to stress with the tube with her.

I'm going to take water and snacks plus PJs with us for her and likely sit in the car for a little while to let the rush die down a bit. She will likely fall asleep before we even leave.

isitme111 · 16/06/2024 00:19

It will be rammed coming out of the stadium all the way up to the tube station. The Met line is pretty reliable we will be using it on the night we go 🤞.

Honestly I've never driven to Wembley before. I've done other gigs/places and it's been very busy to get out but ultimately fine.

This is what I am doing, drinks and snacks and comfy clothes in the car.. if we have to wait a while to get out then so be it..
