If you’re going to Taylor Swift in London….

What’s your plan? Are you staying overnight? If so what area? What sort of transport will you be using? It’s such a long show, will all the tubes still be running when it finishes? I was looking at staying somewhere near the end of the metropolitan line but am a little nervous at how reliable that line is?

Im not usually nervous about London but I’ll likely be coming on my own and I always find it reassuring to hear what others are doing.

Thank you!!

Anyone know what happens between '/show starts' at 5.30 and paramore coming on at 6.15?

wonderstuff · 20/06/2024 20:44

There’s an act before Paramore

CaptainCarrotsBigSword · 20/06/2024 20:49

The Wembley shows have extra supporting acts I think, it was announced a little while ago. Have a Google, you should be able to find it.

I know we've talked a lot about timings for leaving but is anyone not planning on getting there early?

We're not that fussed about support acts so we're planning on getting to Wembley about 6. We have standing tickets but happy to not fight for the front.

Anyone see any issues with this that we've not thought of?

Smallinthesmoke · 21/06/2024 11:15

Just a quick heads up for anyone going to the Sat or Sun shows using Chiltern Railways... they have conveniently announced that they won't be stopping their trains at Wembley Stadium on those days. Total PITA if you're coming from Oxford, High Wycombe, Marylebone etc.

what are late tubes on a thursday like?

We are staying in Kensington - last minute decision as after driving pack from Luton after coldplay a couple of weeks ago I decided I couldnt face driving back alate again! We can then mooch around london on the friday. Going to leave the car at a tub on the outskirts of london.

sundaysathome · 21/06/2024 11:39

can anyone recommend a hotel
short walk
from the tube, few stops
from wembley, on a tube line which runs late on a Thursday evening? We've got
a room booked on a Thursday night
in Paddington but I've just seen that the bakerloo line isn't the best

During the week there's no night tube so not much difference. All will have last trains from their Wembley stations that then actually stop at the other stations between 12.00-1. Met Bakerloo finish about 12, jubilee finishes later

Omg!!! Thank you so much for posting this! We always get the train from Marylebone to the stadium, didn't occur to me to check they would be running on Sunday! That would have been a disaster!!

sundaysathome · 21/06/2024 13:53

so if I'm not able to get
on the bakerloo until 12, it will be a night bus or an uber?

Sorry to hijack the thread - does anyone know if there's a limit on how many kids you can bring in to Wembley - is 1 adult to 3 kids ok? All over 7 and seated. The website just says kids must be accompanied by "an adult" but want to avoid last minute stress! This is a last minute very kind offer for DC!

That'll be totally fine - when we were at Olivia Rodrigo, 90% of the audience was made up of groups of 1 mum with 3 kids!

@cordiality yay!! Thanks so much!

Im just on my way home from Wembley and had such an amazing time!!! I wish I could go again and I never feel like that about concerts.

Happy to answer any questions people might have.

We got there for 6 and went to the loo - pretty quiet. Got drinks between paramore and Taylor which worked well - surprisingly small queues. Then went and got merch during a song we didn't love which was great as there was no queue at all! But this was towards the end of the set and there weren't tonnes of sizes left - get a size smaller than you think, the sizes are massive! I'm a 14 and got a small.

Then we left about half way through the last song and people were RUNNING to the stations! It was mad.

But was also epic in so many ways!

EmeraldRoulette · 22/06/2024 00:13

@ImPunbelievable I could read a whole thread about people's experience of the show and I'd have tons of questions but no practical ones as I'm not going.

I'm just enjoying reading all the social media posts 🫶

That's really helpful, I'm reading a Facebook group post that's getting me a little stressed about getting the tube. So I have a question please, Did you leave at the end and get one ok? We're heading north on the met line and I'm wondering if we're better off walking to Preston Road and getting it there. Looks like a 30 min walk but not sure how 'safe' it is from a crossing, traffic perspective

ImPunbelievable · 22/06/2024 08:22

@storminabuttercup because we were headed south we went to Wembley station and jumped on a train the Marylebone, then joined the tube network. There were fewer people doing this so it made sense to us.

But if you leave promptly I don't see why Wembley Park/central would be an issue, especially going north. On approach to the stations they've got fenced divergences as crowds approach so you funnel into the platform you need to (eg north) which means you won't get delayed by the masses headed south!

Dp took dd with the StubHub tickets I bought last week - they were fine. They had a great night, and I'm glad I got the tickets.

Last night dp and dd planned to walk to their hotel to avoid the tube crush (would have taken about an hour) but they found they got caught in the massive crowds heading to the tube anyway - the roads were just absolutely full of people.

Dp says it was a calm crowd, didn't feel stressful, but they just had to be patient.

mooncloud1 · 22/06/2024 12:10

Lots of great tips here.
Does anyone know if you've booked parking at Wembley what time you can get to the car park from?

TankFlyBoss · 22/06/2024 12:23

I went to Pink last weekend and leaving the stadium was absolutely mad, took an hour and a half to get out m, walk to and enter the nearest tube station (should have been 15? mins walk). There were just so many people all doing the same thing. As a result we missed the last train home so would advise people to make good plans and back up plans. Hope everyone going has fun!

WensleydaleCrumbs · 22/06/2024 12:33

We were there last night and left just after The final song.

Everything was very calm and there were no crowd control issues, however as a previous poster mentioned, you have to be very patient.

From leaving the stadium and actually getting on a tube Southbound, it took an hour.
People heading North on the tube will also get caught up in the crowds as everyone is going the same way.

ZuluQ · 22/06/2024 12:35

Did anyone drive in? Have pre-booked parking at wembley central station, hoping will be quicker to walk back there and leave.

wonderstuff · 22/06/2024 14:47

I’d also be interested in how long it took to get out of car parks, I have pink parking booked as I think I’d miss the last train on Saturday if we tried to get back to Waterloo.

A friend of mine drove and it took her about 90 mins to get on her way by car. But she was on a high level of the car park which was half the issue, then lots of roads around the station were closed until about midnight I think because of all the pedestrians
