If you’re going to Taylor Swift in London….

What’s your plan? Are you staying overnight? If so what area? What sort of transport will you be using? It’s such a long show, will all the tubes still be running when it finishes? I was looking at staying somewhere near the end of the metropolitan line but am a little nervous at how reliable that line is?

Im not usually nervous about London but I’ll likely be coming on my own and I always find it reassuring to hear what others are doing.

Thank you!!

For those of you parking at Wembley - it's taken us over 2/3 hours to leave the car park before

And the route out took us
Into the congestion zone which we didn't notice in queuing traffic - was quite an expensive error

Ohh this is good to know, thank you!

We always drive and park. We live in Essex and it's just better than having to get the tube right into London to come out the other side.

But yeah the waiting can take a while. It took us 1.5hrs just to get out of the multi story when we went for Ed Sheeran one year.

My advice is get there early and park as close to the exit as possible. Not late and top floor like we did before

Unexpectedbaby · 16/06/2024 10:06

Also a lot of people that live in the immediate and close surrounding areas rent out their drive space. It's not always cheap but can help if you want to walk a bit out of the main congestion then drive from there

It takes a lot longer than 20 mins to get to tube - try 1-2 hours - after a big gig

TheaBrandt · 16/06/2024 10:11

Hired a randoms driveway to park in and charge car it’s a one miles walk from the stadium.

This is the best way to do it if you want to park. It means once you are out of the stadium you can walk to your car (stretch those legs after standing for so long!) and then miss all of the traffic/congestion trying to get out of the car park (which takes hours and hours).
There will be enough people about if you are nervous about walking, and a far more enjoyable end to the evening than inching toward in a car park getting wound up about how insanely long it takes!

The congestion charging zone is central London, which is several miles away from Wembley!

You might have ended up in the ULEZ boundary, but since that was extended last year the whole of Wembley is inside so no exit would avoid it.

Can anyone suggest a good place to meet someone to pick them up after the concert? We’re driving to collect DD and friend but have no idea where to meet to hopefully avoid some of the jams.

No suggestion to a spot but make sure everyone involved knows how to use whatthreewords. It will make meeting up so much easier.

I’m going to the show next Sunday, we’re just outside Basingstoke and I’m driving and using stadium parking, my experience of Sunday stadium shows in London is that they don’t always put on extra tubes and getting back to Waterloo for the last train (just after midnight) is very tight, I ended up stuck at Woking after an O2 gig as they put on a replacement bus that wasn’t big enough, we jumped the queue to get into the tube after an Emirates gig and just made the last train! Even if I’m waiting over an hour to get out of the car park at least I’m on the way home.

I wish there were better public transport options on Sunday and that getting back from west London was easier.

Backhometothenorth · 16/06/2024 13:14

Went to Anfield last night - it was amazing! We booked a driveway approx ten mins walk from the stadium on Justpark and we were back in car before eleven. Have a great time!

What are people doing for food? I'm someone who likes to have a detailed plan!

My girls would like to eat at Pizza Express, there is one near the stadium, I'm thinking that a 4pm very early tea there, then get a snack at the stadium between Paromore and Taylor - we are in level one seating near some food vendors so should be able to beat queues here a little? Don't know how big the PE in Wembley outlet is, generally an early table would be easy and we can book a table there, but a few weeks ago at PE by Festival Hall we had a booking but they were in fact just turning tables and we waited over an hour past our booking, this was a Saturday night, but I'm thinking all restaurants near the stadium will be heaving all day? Thinking we could head away from Wembley to somewhere quieter for food in the afternoon, but not sure where... Sorry very tedious, but stressing me out!

There is a pizza express in St George’s centre in Harrow on the hill. You could eat there and then head to Wembley.

CaptainCarrotsBigSword · 17/06/2024 07:58

There isn't a huge amount of time between Paramore and Taylor - I was at Edinburgh and dd and I spent the whole gap queueing for the loos, we almost missed the start!

Hope it's ok to jump on this thread please, Does anyone have experience of travelling the opposite way from Wembley ie out towards Uxbridge? Presumably they keep the tubes running across the whole line not just into London?

Funnily enough I have just booked a room at the Uxbridge premier inn! It’s only a couple of minutes from the tube.

@Tacocatgoatcheesepizza we've stayed there years ago when it was a travelodge it's literally next door, parking is in the shopping centre so a little walk but all in all handy plus plenty of places for food etc either before the gig or the next day (or indeed late night)

Chrispackhamspoodle · 18/06/2024 06:57

Op I live at the end of the Northern end of the Met line. Its great for Wembley and very reliable.Going on Friday and will be using it

snapple21 · 18/06/2024 07:01

I went to Liverpool night one and she was a little late (I presumed cause of the rain as they were drying the stage).

She finished at 23.07.

user1471548941 · 18/06/2024 07:10

Having now been twice (Stockholm and Edinburgh), Taylor is on super early to make sure she doesn’t miss curfew (7.15 both times) and out by 10.30/10.45.

There is next to no time compared to other gigs between her and Paramore, literally 15 mins and it’s not enough time to queue for the loo! Generally my strategy has been drink lots all day, go to the loo upon entry, buy a bottle of water but don’t even sip it until halfway through Taylor. This way I haven’t needed the loo between going to my spot and the end of Taylor.

I absolutely hate the way the tubes/queues are organised at Wembley and it’s not convenient for the part of London I need to exit at (Richmond to head South East) therefore have booked Wembley parking. I know it’s slow getting out the carpark so we may go to like a 24 hour McDonalds to grab some food before even attempting it or may just leg it to the car at the end depending on how close our exit is! I’m prepared for a late night but we’re only 70 odd minutes from London once out.

mitogoshi · 18/06/2024 07:27

I'm going tonight, Cardiff , and due to finish 10.30 according to local rag. Biggest issue is getting out I'm told. We are parking a 30 minute walk away i hope, know I spot

If you’re in Wembley official parking it says they won’t release cars until pedestrians have cleared (they close the roads after the gig), so no point legging it! We’re the similar (heading back to Hampshire).

The Sunday show seems to be starting earlier than Friday and Saturday, getting quite anxious about when we’re going to be able to eat!

user1471548941 · 18/06/2024 22:45

In that case the @wonderstuff it’s definitely McDs!
