I think my friend has been arrested? So worried

Yesterday the police came to my door asking about the whereabouts of my male friend.I rang my friend and he said 2 youths had turned up at his door calling him a peado and trying to break in and threatening him with violence. He said he ran out the back door and ran away. He sounded terrified and told me he has no idea why they were there and he hasn't done anything. He spoke to the police and said he wanted to speak to them because he was so scared. They told him they would pick him up in police car.This was yesterday afternoon and I've not heard from him since.I've been to his house and there was a police notice half sticking out of his letterbox saying they have taken away all his phones and laptop etc and some cannabis (he smokes for himself, not a dealer). I just rang police because I'm so worried about him. He not in his house. Curtains are drawn which is v unusual.I was panicking he might be lying dead in the house or been attacked.Police have said 'he is safe and well and we know where he is' but can't tell me more. This sounds like he is in custody doesn't it? I'm now thinking he must have done something very serious? Or they have found something? It sounds like he may be in custody from yesterday, overnight and all today?? This sounds very serious doesn't it?I'm trying to think of reasons why they would keep him in custody if it was all a misunderstanding? I cant think of any.

I smoke it too and that's a fucking long bow to draw. Mine is supplied by a chemist on prescription.. But not all who grow and supply do any other dodgy things... It's happening on a wide scale. Not just children trafficked in from abroad but 'nice' kids from ordinary families who think they've got a job - until it gets nasty. It's starts with selling dodgy vapes.

Any news op, if he is innocent I hope he's OK and safe. I don't know why the police would seize property without good cause though. Can you go to his local police station and see if he is there.

Had you read it, my cannabis is on prescription. I get the stuff from a chemist with a prescription and smoke that... Not all cannabis users buy from dodgy dealers so saying someone supports child trafficking just because they smoke pot is a long bow to draw... (Even then not all weed comes from dealers who get it from child traffickers either.. It's a MASSIVE assumption.)

@aerkfjherf can you start your own thread? It's a bit tiresome to read on a thread about something else. A few posters have said smoking weed could be homegrown or sourced through medical channels which go against your blanket statement. And no I don't smoke weed but it's just not what the thread is about.

@Horrified14 I would have thought that an accusation by a minor was enough to trigger an investigation; try not to worry at this point, either there won't be any evidence or there are things about him that you were unaware of.

This is completely irrelevant to the OP's friend unless he also gets it on prescription which I think she would have mentioned.

She might not know. We don't all have to inform our friends or acquaintances of our medical history so another assumption by someone with their own generalising agender.. Either way the point was not all people who smoke pot contribute to child trafficking. But keep going with your conspiracies. It's entertaining if nothing else. Why did random children know his address and that’s he’s a (suspected) paedo? Also as asked before, why did the police have your details? Sorry if I’ve missed that info.

you know your relationship with your friend, other posters do not, my friends could read the note if it was me & id read it if it was them. MNers often have a loose relationship with the term friend.

I hope you hear from him soon and it turns out to be someone trying to cause mother/mistaken address or whatever.
