Can you text without looking at your screen?

I'm 40.
I could touch type on the old Nokia phones as well (a 3210).

Then could touch type on the BlackBerry/ PC too.

And now on a touch phone. I think it's just from practice as never "tried" to learn this intentionally.

No. Never tried, but I don't send all that many texts anyway. I do touch type on a normal keyboard and I'm like lightning on a number keypad.

Well my spatial awareness must be awful as I haven't got a clue where any keys could possibly be on a screen.

Predictive text means that my sentence made sense and was almost what I wanted to say.
If my DS buys me a Latte instead of eggs, I'll take that as a sign.

Although tried that without looking and it turns out I can.

I was brilliant at it back in the day with proper buttons and T9 predictive text

I thiught the answer would be no but I am typinv this looking at the letters as they come out not the key oard. Made one or two corrections as well. I don't use predictive text it drives me nuts.

Like learning to touch type on a keyboard is a COURSE whereas I just learnt intuitively.

And you're not missing anything by not being able to touch type on a touch phone.

No, but I'm old and can't see what I've written without reading glasses. touch-Can on a keyboard due to practice but not in the official 'Mavis Beacon' way, I do it y way!

No, and I constantly get the wrong letters. It was so much easier on my old Nokias when I could feel the keys.

It’s weird I’m an older millennial but before predictive text and touch screens I could type on my phone without looking at my screen but I can’t seem to do it with these new fangled phones 😂

Haha no, though I can touch type on a computer so I know the layout. But without the tactile feedback I can't reliably get the right keys on a phone. I'm mid 30s.

That was my attempt to see how I got on writing the following without looking at my screen : I can touch type on my computer though.

Think the predictive text throws me off as well so makes it so much more inaccurate.
