Just out of curiosity really?

Had our house recently valued at around £600k with a £150k mortgage but we’ve spent around the same doing it up and its been extremely hard and stressful. However feeling very lucky that we’ve been able to do so and very taken aback by the valuation.

Worth 900k, I owe just under 300k on the mortgage.

ElephantsDontReadFantasy · 08/06/2024 22:31

We’ve 70% LTV according to a conservative valuation

gymgoals2024 · 08/06/2024 22:32

200k, owe 90k mortgage. Its actually worth 285k but on shared ownership. It's all relative. The market isn't great. I keep an eye and the value of mine hasn't changed for a couple of years. It's the market.

We own three quarters of it. Mortgage left is around 120k and it’s worth about 500k

Clawedino · 08/06/2024 22:35

Own it outright. Haven't had it valued but it's around £270k. We hope to upsize in a few years so won't always be this comfortable though!

RampantIvy · 08/06/2024 22:37

No idea how much our house is worth. We paid £285k 21 years ago. Mortgage is paid off.

The house opposite sold for £560k 2 years ago, but it has been extended, has a double garage (our is single), and fantastic views across the valley.

SuePreemly · 08/06/2024 22:38

House worth £400k(?) mortgage is 75k now and hoping to pay off well within next decade.

MooseBeTimeForSnow · 08/06/2024 22:39

Converted to Sterling, about 575K. Paid 365k for it 8 years ago.
Equity 575K.

Cash, bought - not had mortgage for over 16 years - cash for the house we live in and cash for the couple of BTL's

eurochick · 08/06/2024 22:41

We have around 70% equity. If we hadn't done the move to our current house and stayed in our old place we could have paid off the mortgage. We do love the house though.

Cadela · 08/06/2024 22:42

Own it outright, haven’t had it valued but houses on the same street with similar renovations have gone for £260kish.

StSwithinsDay · 08/06/2024 22:43

Mortgage free. House worth 1.5m.

BagFullOfNoodles · 08/06/2024 22:43

Around 50/50

Lokshen · 08/06/2024 22:44

65% equity

SBGHJ · 08/06/2024 22:45

£700k with a £180k mortgage.

AngelsWithSilverWings · 08/06/2024 22:49

Approx £800k value with £12k left on the mortgage but we bought it 17 years ago for £435k with a £200k mortgage.

I hope you are a decent landlord who maintains the properties well, deals with problems promptly and charges a fair rent.

Mortgage free. House worth 1.5m.

Well this is the dream! I’m very envious 🙂

Our house is worth approx £260k (based on similar houses sold on our road) with remaining mortgage of approx £157k, so LTV: 60%

LumiB · 08/06/2024 23:15

Worth £560k, £110k mortgage left!

tartancladpjs · 08/06/2024 23:18

900k we owe 250k and just debating borrowing more the extend, but I'm having a wobble!

mitogoshi · 08/06/2024 23:22

Mortgage free, £450k based on next door selling 5 months ago

Bluevelvetsofa · 09/06/2024 10:24

Houses are worth what someone is prepared to pay. A house might be valued at £500k, but if no one wants to buy it at that price, that isn’t what it’s worth.

Jeezitneverends · 09/06/2024 10:28

Approx £450k, £50k outstanding with 5 years to go on mortgage

MasterOfCake · 09/06/2024 10:30

Worth £1.4m, have £900k left on the mortgage. Only bought it last year so still have a way to go!
