Noa Argamani, the girl seen in the videos from October 7th being abducted from the festival on a motorbike, has been released following an IDF operation.

I had often wondered what had happened to her - just fantastic news to hear she is back with her family.

That is wonderful news x

fiskalulu · 08/06/2024 14:44

I was so happy and relieved to see this. I've been absolutely haunted by her story and it's a joy to see her with her dad again.

SadJaneGrey · 08/06/2024 16:46

Wonderful news, and the other 3 hostages. ❤️

Getonwitit · 08/06/2024 16:58

Today is a good day. So pleased to hear this wonderful news.

TheDutchHouse · 08/06/2024 17:22

Best news ! Hopefully home to see her poorly mum very soon.

lyingonthebeach · 08/06/2024 17:28

Fantastic!!

Respect to the IDF rescuers.

Vermin · 08/06/2024 17:31

It’s magnificent news however please be careful with language- the reporting on this has been diabolical. The four hostages were not “released” they were freed by IDF soldiers from the 60 terrorists holding them. The full story of the rescue and how they were held (& re-kidnapped by a reserve group at one point) is astonishing. Hamas went to great lengths not to “release” them.

SlashBeef · 08/06/2024 17:35

I'm so pleased. I often thought about them and hoped they would be rescued.

OneGreenPlayer · 08/06/2024 18:03

Good to see them looking so well.

FrancisSeaton · 08/06/2024 18:19

Excellent news

Elleherd · 08/06/2024 19:15

Sadly they were rescued not released, but I am very glad for them. If Noa's boyfriend is still alive, I hope the news that she at least made it, seeps through to him.

Triggerning · 08/06/2024 19:23

It’s wonderful news about her and the other 3 who were rescued. I’d like to take a moment to remember Chief Inspector Arnon Zamora who was killed by terrorists during the rescue mission.

LoobyDoop2 · 08/06/2024 20:10

So relieved for her. I hope the others who are still hostages are alive and will be rescued soon. And I hope she is able to recover from what she went through.

WitchyWay · 08/06/2024 20:44

I'm so pleased for her and her family, to be a hostage for 8 months must be harrowing.

SocoBateVira · 08/06/2024 21:45

PPs are right, this wasn't a release. Release implies that this was a choice made by Hamas. But it was taken out of their hands, and if it were up to those filthy rapists she and the other three hostages would still be captive.

Particularly worth pointing out as well that the other three hostages are men of military age. They weren't eligible for release under the truce, and their prospects of getting out any way other than a rescue were particularly poor.

?????????????????????????????????

Allthehorsesintheworld · 10/06/2024 19:48

Very good news. I hope she’s ok, and the others who were kidnapped.

Why do men start these things ? . And carry them on.

lyingonthebeach · 10/06/2024 19:45

?????????????????????????????????

I'm not sure what you're questioning?

2021lady · 10/06/2024 19:51

No mention for the 200 innocent people killed during this??
No mention of the fact that people pretended to be bringing humatarian aid and then opened fire on a refugee camp?

I mean great she's been released but if Israels PM cared about the hostages he wouldn't have REJECTED 9 ceasefire deals! Hamas have been asking them to to a hostage swap for 8 months!!

And you know the captives have said how well they've been looked after by Hamas. And because of this they're getting abuse from their own government.
Same can not be said about the Palestinians held captive in Israeli prisons. Some have been raped to death!

Please look at both sides. Not just a rescued hostage. There is so much more to it and I find it shocking that not a single person has mentioned how many people was killed because of this!!

2021lady · 10/06/2024 19:52

Can I also add the girl you're talking about, the IDF said they found her body back in Novemeber and that she had been beaten and abused but that's more of their lies

Elleherd · 10/06/2024 19:59

It is possible to care about more than one set of people, without having to constantly state that.
I would not go onto a thread about a lucky Gazan who had survived what had been done to them, and say but what about the Israeli hostages?
The whole shit show is utterly horrendous for every single person caught up in it.

For someone who wants to look at both sides, you've ignored the way in which Hamas' actions during the raid made things more dangerous for the civilians around them. They didn't have to try and fight to stop the hostages from being rescued. That was a choice.

That's also not a very comprehensive account of what the released hostages have said about how they were treated. Amit Soussana disclosed that she was raped and beaten. Some have mentioned other hostages being raped. Others were kept in tunnels where the oxygen levels were low, and not allowed up for air. Noa Argamani was forced into domestic labour. Manee Jirachat had a gun rammed into his neck and was tied up for days in the tunnel. Mia Schem was groped, emotionally abused and deprived of food. Lots of them were forcibly filmed, which is a breach of international law.

Then of course there's the ones who haven't been able to say anything at all because Hamas summarily executed them, both on 7th October and since then. Weird how you left all that out.

Your 'both sides' works both ways.

I'm not sure what you're questioning?

Because

'Sadly they were rescued not released'

seems like a really odd comment. They were rescued. Why is that sad?

'Majority'. Prove it.

Here are some sources for what I've mentioned. Firstly, sexual assault.

https://edition.cnn.com/2024/03/26/middleeast/amit-soussana-israeli-hostage-hamas-sexual-assault-intl/index.html

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kidnapping_of_Mia_Schem

Do make sure to address the rape in your response.

Other mistreatment.

https://www.dw.com/en/freed-thai-hostages-israelis-had-it-worse/a-67642521

Oh, here's some up to date stuff from a doctor who's been treating the recently liberated hostages.

https://www.timesofisrael.com/liveblog_entry/hostages-were-beaten-abused-almost-every-day-says-doctor-who-treated-rescuees

As for the rest, what does the IDF having killed hostages have to do with your claims that the majority said they were well treated? And do you think the IDF having treated prisoners badly gives Hamas a free pass or something?

To be clear, I'm not interested in your moral assessment of the situation, not least because it's clearly been made in ignorance of what the hostages have said about their mistreatment. Only in your whopping great double standards.

If you want to tell other people to consider both sides, you're going to have to do that yourself as well. That includes the way in which Hamas endangered all the people in the surrounding area by trying to prevent the civilian hostages from being released.

Israeli woman who was held hostage by Hamas speaks out on her abduction and sexual assault in Gaza | CNN

Amit Soussana has become the first Israeli woman to speak publicly about enduring what she says was a sexual assault and other forms of violence during her 55 days in captivity.
